Merry Christmas - Preparing for the Magic
Ok - I Have Put Up My Tree
The Drill
The tree is a plastic and wire pine tree. It sits upstairs on my house until this time of year rolls around.
It's up, it's full of tinsel and lights and ornaments.
It means we are ready.
We mean business.
Next, it's the preparation.
We, and the kids and their kids and my hubby's mom will gather on December 25 and eat a full blown turkey and ham dinner with all the trimmings.
The trimmings are the accompaniments. Stuffing, potatoes, gravy, buns, pies, cranberries, black olives, green olives, herring.
Of course, I have already cooked the turkey and the stuffing and they are in the freezer. Oh, that reminds me that I make a crock of barbequed baked beans, as well.
The next step.is purchasing odds and ends for the grandchildren to unwrap.
Some gifts are practical. Some are not. Oh, we will give everyone some money to buy what they want.
It's just fun to watch people watching others getting stuff. Nobody, except the giver knows what the package contains. Then, since the paper is kind of all the same, the giver may not realize that the gift is from themselves.
It's all magical.
I wrapped them, and I don't even know what's in them.
Let the games begin.
