Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic affects education systems in terms of teaching; that is from face-to-face learning to the introduction of different learning modalities, such as online distance learning, modular distance learning and blended learning. The learning modality implemented by the school depends on the school's ability to provide it. In the same way, the school also considers the parents' decision as to their preferred learning modality.

There are schools that have the capacity to provide a mix of online learning and a written module, or blended learning modality. Blended learning modality is generally referred to as the teaching methods of ICT use in the delivery of lessons in the classroom. Others may call it the integration of ICT in teaching and learning, where most teachers use it during pre-pandemic times. The Department of Education (DepEd) presents blended learning as a synthesis of two learning styles of remote learning. Schools use blended learning since they incorporate one learning modality with another.

The start of the school year is a difficult challenge for teachers, since this is their first time to use a new approach to teaching, which is a mix of learning or a mixture of online learning modality and printed modules. Before the start of classes, teachers take part in numerous training sessions and workshops on the learning delivery modality. They also assess the readiness of the school and the capacity of the teachers to incorporate this modality. The presence of ICT tools and equipment and a secure internet connection lead the way to online learning. In addition, in order to ensure that these learners have printed versions of their modules, school administrators plan to combine online learning with printed modules that give rise to blended learning.

In order to cope with the demands of time, change is really important with each other. In the first two weeks of the blended learning process, issues are found by the school, such as the participation of learners. Learners lack awareness of the Google Classroom. Schools immediately offer guidance to the learners and their parents as a solution. The new generation of learners are fast learners on computer-related topics. So as part of the blended learning modality, they quickly grasped the skills required to perform online learning.

On the other hand, parents are given the schedule for each Friday to pick up the printed modules of the learners. The content of the modules is generally explained every Monday or Tuesday of the following weeks. In the last weeks of blended learning, teachers and parents have seen the benefits of providing this kind of learning modality. Many who are fast learners quickly grasped the lessons as teachers clarify the content of the lessons during their online class. In reality, most learners get high scores in their activities for the week, while some get even perfect scores. On the other side, there are learners who cannot immediately understand the lesson. This situation is demonstrated by the findings of their weekly performance evaluation. The learning of the learners depends, therefore on their skill and ability to understand the lessons.

Learning involvement applies to the time of the learners attending their online classes or addressing the printed modules. The purpose of their involvement is to learn the knowledge and skills attached to the lessons. Learning involvement is influenced by the attention of the learners. This is one of the reasons why, despite attending their classes online and responding to the printed modules, there are occasions when they cannot grasp the substance of the lessons. In addition, learning involvement is influenced by the various factors that learners pay attention to during the process.

Grades are the numerical description of the learning output of learners in different areas of learning. The higher the grades the learner gets, the better they understand the lesson, but parents understand that most of them do not rely on the grades of the learners at this time of the pandemic. They value more the experience that their children learn from the lessons than the numerical representation of their performance in various learning areas. This made a specific lesson during the time of COVID-19 crisis – known the importance of gaining knowledge and skills in studying. This is one of the benefits that the COVID-19 pandemic brings to parents when it comes to their children's learning success.
