My Life is Chaos ...
In this day and age when the fast tempo of our everyday lives seems to be pushing us to be better, faster and more productive and when we are always stressed due to the lack of time, it seems that many people have issues dealing with such stress and fail to be as organized in their lives or at their jobs as they want to be. Of course, people differ in their character regarding how they live their lives. Some are more organized, tend to plan everything to the very last detail, while others, on the other hand, tend to be more spontaneous and simply go with the flow, even though that may mean that they miss out on various opportunities in life.
If you are one of those people whose life is chaotic, try, if that is possible, to take a step back, take a breather to estimate, and reevaluate the situation you found yourself in. Then take a sheet of paper and write down all the issues that pester you and start writing down ideas on how to solve these issues or at least reduce the negative effects of them. Make a pro-and-con list of what you should do to get your life organized and which steps you should take on the path of getting a handle of your life. You noting down ideas and possible solutions to your issues will probably already give you a sense of being more organized, which will calm you down a bit and make you believe that you are already on the right path.
What's Causing Chaos in Your Life?
Probably the biggest issue all those people who are suffering from their lives being too chaotic is caused by their lack of time or maybe even the high tempo of their lives. It is exactly this fast tempo that makes us think that we are missing out on something, maybe life itself, if we do not manage to fit everything we want into our busy 24-hour schedules. Just think about it - how many times has it happened to you - you organized your day wrong and you ended running up and down your city all day long, running from one errand to another or meeting one friend or another, until you simply dropped onto your bed in the middle of the night and immediately fell asleep?
It is hard to break out of your everyday routine, even though you are well aware that it is not working for you, that it is too fast and too stressful for you. Nevertheless, it is important to try to do your best to slow down your life, take time to plan and organize it - of course, if that's something you would like to do. If you decide to take this step, it will surely be extremely hard right from the start, but if you keep at it, it will get easier with every passing day and week.

Spontaneity vs Planning Your Life
Many people make the mistake of thinking that spontaneous people are only those who do not have any real plans and they tend to live in the moment. I would say that I am partially spontaneous while, on the other hand, I have lots of plans according to which I organize my days and weeks. I feel that if I don't have a real plan I am kind of lost and not really pulling the strings of my life. While there are also days when I simply wake up and decide to go on a spontaneous road trip with my bike, pushing everything else aside and living my life to the fullest extent. Sometimes you just need to forget about your plans and go with the flow, relax and enjoy your day without being pestered by your everyday issues. Spontaneity might be just the thing you need if you feel stuck in your everyday routine.
Don't Be Afraid to Ask for Help
Different people live their lives differently. Some people have no problem organizing their life and setting boundaries or planning different steps on their way to achieving their goals. While others simply do not know where to start and how to start planning and organizing, paving the way to reaching their aims. To all these people I would say - do not be afraid to ask for help. There is surely a friend of yours who is able and willing to help you out. If you do not know where to start, invite them over and ask them to help you make a plan on how to get a grip on your life.
Even a short list at the beginning can do the trick and give you the right amount of self-esteem to continue achieving your ambitions. Maybe you just need a nudge in the right direction that will motivate you to continue organizing your everyday activities. By making the list, you will already feel more organized.
If you feel you will not be able to stick at it, ask your friend to make you a plan for a day, a week, or even a month. In this way, your only task will be to stick with the plan and live your life by it. Well, and another thing you'll need to do is to buy your friend a beer or some dinner to return the favor.
Organize Your Life the Way You Want to
Steps Towards Organization...
1. Asses your life situation.
2. Find the reasons why you feel you are living a chaotic life?
3. Which factors could you eliminate in order to get more organized?
4. Start by taking smaller steps towards organizing your life.
5. If you are successful in taking smaller steps, try to make the first big step towards getting rid of the chaos.
6. Be persistent - at first, it will be hard, but if you keep at it, you will find more willpower to continue on the set path.
7. If you feel you are not going to make a change, try making a pact with your friend, persuading them to help you on your way of changing your life for the better.
Combination of Routine and Spontaneity
I find it best to live a life of routine and spontaneity. In other words, a mixture of both is what works best for me. Sometimes, I need to have a routine in my life, in order to feel more secure, more confident, and even calm about myself. On other occasions, it is exactly the mentioned routine that makes me nervous and brings out feelings in me of my craving changes in life. On such days, I try to do something spontaneous, if not for any other reason than to break my routine. I do something I usually don't do, in some cases, I even surprise myself by going horseback riding or even bungee jumping. I do this to feel more alive and to feel that I'm not stuck in a rut and to have the feeling that I'm pushing myself to try something new and exhilarating.
Remember on thing ... every person needs to come out of their shell once in a while, just to feel alive, try new stuff, meet new friends or embark on a journey or adventure they wouldn't dream of embarking. Remember - we all live just once, so take full advantage of everything life has to offer.
