C. E. Clark has had a curiosity about the universe and other possible intelligent life there since she was about 10 years old.
E.T. Is Here!! And He's Watching Us! Maybe Even Living Among Us! Some very credible people say this could be so.
There has been conjecture for a very long time about whether or not aliens from other planets have actually landed on planet Earth and if in fact they may be living among us. Since I heard Astronaut Gordon Cooper state clearly that aliens do exist and have for decades, I decided to look into the matter.
Extraterrestrials Are Among Us
Colonel Gordon Cooper, Mercury Astronaut, Insisted Even On His Deathbed That Extraterrestrials Do Exist and Are Watching Us
For people to whom this is important, Colonel Cooper belonged to the following organizations, just to name a few: The American Astronautical Society , The Society of Experimental Test Pilots, and The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NASA).
Colonel Cooper was a Mercury astronaut, logged 222 hours in space, and among other distinctions, was the first man to make a second orbital flight in space, (NASA).
According to Colonel Cooper, he, along with other pilots, first saw a formation -- described as an “armada” -- of hundreds of saucer shaped UFOs while flying over Central Europe as a pilot for the United States Air Force in 1951. These sightings went on for a day and a half (Elhardt).
Cooper says the extra terrestrials are far more advanced than we are, which if they exist would stand to reason, I guess. After all, if they can get here, but we cannot even figure out where they are coming from much less go there, they would have to be a lot more advanced scientifically than we are, would they not?
Doctor Edgar Mitchell, Former NASA Astronaut Who Walked On the Moon Agrees That Extraterrestrials Have Visited Earth
In addition to Colonel Cooper, Dr. Edgar Mitchell, former NASA astronaut who walked on the moon, and who was a member of the Apollo 14 mission also says aliens not only exist, but “extraterrestrials have visited Earth on several occasions — but the alien contact has been repeatedly covered up by governments for six decades,” (Newscorp). Note Dr. Mitchell said, “covered up by governments,” which would suggest more governments than just the U.S. government is trying to hide the existence and purpose (if they know it) of extraterrestrials from people around the world.
In a Birmingham England radio interview, Mitchell said that he knew sources in the U.S. Federal Government who had been in contact with aliens and who had described them as ‘” little people who look strange to us,”’ (Newscorp).
Mitchell also stated that the aliens technology is so advanced compared to our own, that if the aliens were hostile we would have been gone by now, (Newscorp).
Personally, I think if aliens are here among us, or even just visiting regularly, they may have other ways of utilizing our species and would therefore not want to extinguish us. I do not think a hostile stance would necessarily involve destroying our species, but they might instead be using us for their own purposes. How many people come up missing every year in the U.S. alone? Just kidding -- but you never know . . .
Presidents Who Say Extraterrestrials Are Here
Credible People Who Say, or Have Said, Extraterrestrials Are Here
Doctor Mitchell and Colonel Cooper are two very credible Americans who state without hesitation that aliens from another planet or planets are here. Colonel Cooper insisted it was true to the very end on his deathbed. Many other well known Americans have also stated they know or believe aliens from other planets have visited here, and do so regularly. (Net Scientia). Among them:
J. Edgar Hoover, former FBI Director
Admiral Roscoe Hillenkoetter, former director of the Central Intelligence Agency
General Douglas MacArthur
President Harry S. Truman
President John F. Kennedy
President Gerald Ford
President Jimmy Carter
President Richard M. Nixon
President Ronald Reagan
John W. McCormack, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the United States. January (1965)
Senator Barry Goldwater
NASA astronaut Scott Carpenter
There is no question that this is an interesting subject. So many credible people insist aliens have visited this planet. Are they all crazy? Some insist extraterrestrials make frequent and regular visits here, and some even believe extraterrestrials are living among us. I have had an interest in this subject most of my life -- since I was in elementary school, but I confess, I do not have the answer.
Are beings from another planet watching us? Are they landing, and keeping notes on us? Living among us? Using us for their scientific experiments? What do you think?
Watch the videos of interviews with former astronauts Gordon Cooper and Dr. Edgar Mitchell who both claim to know that aliens have visited Earth many times, and that aliens continue to visit Earth.

Robert Sacchi, I appreciate the conversation you initiated with Ronnie. Very interesting and a nice addition to this article. I'm thinking there are probably more than one species of alien out there and that the only ones we are likely to discover are the ones similar to the creatures we share our planet with. I think the ones similar to or far advanced compared to ourselves will be harder to pin down.
C E Clark (author) from North Texas on July 05, 2017:
Ronnie Wrenchbiscuit, thank you for reading and commenting on this article! I think you raise some interesting thoughts and possibilities regarding extraterrestrials.
I, too, grew up on a farm, and while we never tried to explain things in our human world to our animals, we did form emotional attachments. We never had more than 10 head of cattle at any given time, so they were spoiled more like pets. Occasionally one would be sent to market, or sold to a neighbor, or sometimes the bulls would be butchered for our own meat. Same with the hogs and chickens.
Mainly what I learned from contact with the animals was that they all have their own personalities, dispositions, intelligence, etc, not so different from humans.
I did work with horses a few times back in 2008. One horribly hot day in May here in North Texas I was helping to get the horses ready to load into trailers to be transported to Dallas where they would pull carriages for pay on the West End.
I was explaining to Prince how the big house across the drive had air-conditioning and how it was so lovely and cool in there compared to the awful heat we were stuck in. He was giving me his best attention, ears pricked and eyes on me seeming to listen intently and to try to understand. Not having experienced air-conditioning, he probably couldn't really understand that concept. Most domestic animals of average intelligence (for the animal) that have frequent contact with humans are believed to have a vocabulary of 200 words or so.
I believe animals experience emotions similar to humans. The shape of their bodies prevents them from doing many of the things humans do. They have their own social rules and means of communicating, including sound, but it's probably a good thing that they can't speak like we do. Just imagine what they might say!
Robert Sacchi on June 26, 2017:
That is the one thing about science fiction is it brings up all different possibilities. Beings that could shape-shift or beings that have the technology that enables them to shape shift, or otherwise alter their appearance, is an intriging thought.
C E Clark (author) from North Texas on June 26, 2017:
Robert Sacchi, hard to imagine we (and presumably the other creatures and plants, etc., on this planet) all happened as a cosmic accident. The creatures here are all very complicated and it's hard to imagine they all just happened one at a time much less all at once -- sort of like a miracle.
Then there is the possibility of 'shape-shifters' like they had on Star Trek. Perhaps the aliens visiting here have the ability to make themselves look like us.
Thank you for your continued interest and comments.
Robert Sacchi on June 20, 2017:
He had the theory that ancient writings were accounts of alien visitors in ancient times. The first and most recent Indiana Jones movies alude to his theories. At least one of his books was made into a movie, "Chariots of the Gods".
Ronnie wrenchBiscuit on June 20, 2017:
No, I'm not familiar with that author.
Robert Sacchi on June 20, 2017:
Ronnie wrenchBiscuit, I assume you are familiar with the writings of Erich von Däniken?
Ronnie wrenchBiscuit on June 19, 2017:
I would guess that you know more about the subject than I. However, I reason that the human would continue to be used as a source of food and as breeding stock to develop hybrids. It is very likely that the human "God" was actually a lesser god in the form of an advanced alien race.
In Genesis 11: 1-9 it is written : "...But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come, "let us" go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”
It has been suggested that this is evidence of alien intervention. The language "let us" lends a sinister tone to the passage. One theory is that they tinkered with human DNA in order to dumb down the species. It continues that what they created was evolving to quickly, and the aliens feared they would lose control of their own creation.
And so, it is very likely that the end game is simply to maintain the status quo, and to continue farming. Like they say,"If it ain't broke don't fix it!"
Robert Sacchi on June 19, 2017:
Ronnie wrenchBiscuit, any thoughts on a possible alien "endgame"?
Ronnie wrenchBiscuit on June 13, 2017:
Yes, this is an interesting topic. Governments around the world have told some great lies throughout the years. One of the greatest lies they have told since the advent of radio and television is that should aliens arrive on this planet they would either be benevolent or openly hostile, and that in either case they would most likely contact world leaders if they chose to communicate.
This type of fiction puts world leaders in the drivers seat no matter what the outcome of an encounter. It leads the public to falsely believe that if anything is really going on with extraterrestrials then the government surely knows about it. But such a scenario is highly unlikely.
We need only to consider farm animals to understand the absurdity of such a notion. Even though we come from the same planet and share the same biology, we cannot communicate with a cow or a pig even if we try. Yes, we can herd them here and there, but in spite of our intelligence we cannot share the concept of gravity with them, or a cell phone, or the Super Bowl!
It is doubtful that a highly intelligent alien race would be able to communicate with us at all. And if they could, it is doubtful we would understand their meaning. If they chose to use us for anything at all, whether good or bad, I hardly think they would need to tell us their purpose. They would simply proceed. I grew up on a farm. Trust and believe we never asked the cows if they wanted to go to the slaughterhouse!
An alien race that could communicate with us and understand human nature would necessarily not be that advanced. They could use platforms like Hubpages to explore the human mind through language and emotional responses. They may even be able to reach through cyberspace and physically connect in a parasitic fashion; to connect to a particular commentator in order to feed on negative energy. This would give a whole new meaning to social media.
C E Clark (author) from North Texas on June 13, 2017:
Shyron, thank you for your comment. Sometimes I think aliens from other planets or solar systems are here among us too. Maybe that is the reason our government benefits a particular class of people while the rest of us are basically slaves to them and receive precious little benefit from anything. Perhaps they are controlling us to their own benefit and we don't even realize it . . .
Maybe the extremely wealthy aren't really human! It often seems as if they're not. All they do is use and take. The wealthy class (not every single member, but certainly 99% of them) are the true moochers in this world, not paying their fair share of taxes, not paying fair and reasonable wages, not allowing poor people healthcare and wanting to deny even food.
You may very well be right in that aliens are running this government. That would certainly explain the politicians heartless attitude toward most of us.
Robert Sacchi on May 23, 2017:
If we are part of a grand experiment or plan then people from outer space being human is possible, even likely. If we came about through a cosmic accident then the likelihood of beings like us on another planet is near nil. That might be a good poll question.
C E Clark (author) from North Texas on May 23, 2017:
Robert Sacchi, thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. Why do you think the odds are against ETs looking like humans? Perhaps we are all one huge species distributed through the universe to see how same or differently we will all develop? For all we know we are a grand experiment . . . :)
Shyron E Shenko from Texas on April 30, 2017:
I am beginning to think there are a lot of ETs among us.
Still as interesting as when I first read it.
Blessings dear friend
Robert Sacchi on April 27, 2017:
If one were to go by the odds they wouldn't look anything like us.
C E Clark (author) from North Texas on April 27, 2017:
Paula (fpherj48), thank you for your kind remarks. I agree that there is a great likelihood that 'aliens' from other worlds are very possibly here and look just like us so that we don't know the difference, but I'm willing to allow they may not be, either. I'm undecided, but I do believe it would be beyond arrogance to imagine that in our vast universe, ours is the only planet with intelligent life on it. Thank you for taking time to read and comment!
Robert Sacchi on April 20, 2017:
You bring up an interesting point. Here on Earth there are those who believe the less technologically advanced societies are morally more advanced. There are also those who think the opposite. One can only wonder if a race more technologically advanced beings would have settled on this issue and what way.
C E Clark (author) from North Texas on April 20, 2017:
Robert Sacchi, thank you for your continued interest in this subject. I chose the people on my list of 'believers' because of their position in our society. There are many believers who are not so well known or so esteemed. Personally, I find the astronauts themselves the most credible.
On the surface one might expect a species far ahead of us or other species to feel extremely superior in every way and to imagine theirs is the only way, but I think if they are truly advanced they will have an open mind allowing that other species, though not necessarily technologically as advanced as themselves, may be morally more advanced. I say may, because I would hope that along with technological advancement would come moral and psychological advancement.
Robert Sacchi on April 10, 2017:
Would a species centuries ahead of other species think their way is not the best way but the only way?
C E Clark (author) from North Texas on April 10, 2017:
Sparkster, thank you for reading and commenting. I would expect there would be both good and bad. I would also expect they are from different arts of the universe and have different cultures and ideas, just as we here on this planet have a lot of diversity.
C E Clark (author) from North Texas on April 04, 2017:
Shyron, thank you for commenting on this article!
Clearly extraterrestrials are far more advanced technologically than ourselves since they are able to visit this planet from a great distance, but we do not as yet have the capability to visit their planet -- and likely are not aware of what planet that is or where it is in our universe. Even if they are not more intelligent, they may have had a head-start and be a million years ahead of us in learning and developing. Keep in mind that being more intelligent about 'things' does not naturally go along with being morally superior. Morality doesn't go hand-in-hand with intelligence.
If you ever read about the Lewis and Clark Expeditions you will know that when these explorers came across new species of animals the first thing they did was kill them and then cook and eat them to see if they would have value for new settlers to those new parts of U.S. territory. They did that because it never even occurred to them that these new species might be intelligent and have value apart from providing food. Who can say that extraterrestrials would not look at us in the same way? So far beneath them intelligently speaking, that our only value to their way of thinking would be that we might provide them nourishment?
Being exceptionally intelligent or gifted, as we call it in this world, doesn't mean people are born with all knowledge already in their brain. They must still learn. Highly intelligent people are set apart in general by the fact that they learn more easily and quickly, which is why they are considered smarter. They learn and retain knowledge more quickly than people (beings) of average intelligence.
Sadly, I have over the last 5 years or so, spoken with several people who have told me outright that they do not want to learn. They do not want to understand most things. Like how to figure out 10% of any number. That's pretty simple, yet beyond the desire of some people to want to know how to figure it out and it's just one example of things people would prefer to trust and depend on others (machines or people) to do for them.
If people do not want to know and understand such a simple thing as the easiest percentage to figure, what is there that they DO want to learn? It would seem most things are too difficult and too much trouble for them to be bothered with learning about them. They are not mentally challenged in the sense that we usually measure that sort of thing, yet in a way, they are more mentally challenged because without the desire to learn, God has truly wasted a perfectly good brain by giving it to people who want to keep it for good and not actually use it. Indeed, they refuse to use it. Not very difficult to surpass such individuals on the IQ scale.
One of the characteristics of a highly intelligent person (IQ of 130 and above) is that they love to learn purely out of curiosity, not because the new knowledge will necessarily have a direct effect on their own life.
No one is saying that extraterrestrials are necessarily bad or evil, but then we really don't' know for sure that they aren't. We are saying that it might be a good thing to be cautious and not assume these beings are here with our best interests in mind.
Not all extraterrestrials are the same. Not all come from the same planet. Some may be good and some may be not so good, by our human standards. Perhaps it would be wise to determine which are which before getting too chummy?
Who wants to think that after all our centuries and decades of evolving technologically, if in no other way, that we have gone through all of that so that our grandchildren and great grandchildren can become livestock to another species from another world?
Being too friendly towards beings we know little or nothing about could place many of us on farms in their world as livestock, could make this planet an exotic hunting ground for their food and trophies, could put many people in their zoos of strange and exotic creatures from around the universe, could turn us into slaves on their planet, or pets.
Until we know what their intentions are, it makes sense to me to be cautious. Their technology is so far advanced from our own that it is unlikely we could fend them off or extricate ourselves from them once they have control of our world and everything in it.
Take care, dear friend . . .

Au fait.....Fascinating and definitely a topic to research, study and follow. There are many, MANY people who believe (as in, are convinced) E.T's/Aliens are only too real. Most people say very little for various reasons, needless to mention that they fear being scoffed at or thought "crazy." IMHO, we'd have to be crazy not to accept this as a very good possibility...much more valid than not.
Thanks for this great read, au fait. You never disappoint! Have a good week-end. Peace, Paula

Marc Hubs from United Kingdom on March 25, 2017:
There are both good and bad and both are interacting with us. The bad ones have had a control on us for a very long time now and this is shifting. Many people have had experiences with both. There are also bad ones posing as good ones and a lot of disinformation and mind control involved in this phenomenon. Fact is, whatever the case, we need to be prepared.
Shyron E Shenko from Texas on March 23, 2017:
If aliens are so much smarter than us, why would they want to come to visit earth? Let us not assume that extraterrestrials are bad/evil. What if there had been beings living on the moon? Would that have made the astronauts bad/evil?
Blessings my dear friend

Colorfulone, thank you for coming by and commenting on this article. I think there are a lot of things in this world that aren't so easy to explain. Perhaps it's not so much an issue of 'the authorities' coming clean with whatever proof or scientific evidence they have regarding the existence of aliens, but more a matter of ourselves being open minded and tuned in to unusual occurrences that aren't so easily explained by usual means.

A little while back I think the CIA admitted to piloting many of the UFOs back in the 50s. But what about the ones they did not pilot?
I think that at present we would have a hard time discerning between a space alien and a time traveler. There is an old saying that any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. What this and concepts like evolution imply is that if "humans" from sufficiently far in the future came to visit us here in the past, both they and their technology could appear completely alien to us.
Patricia Scott from North Central Florida on March 30, 2015:
Why not? Why could it not be possible? Like you since my earliest years this has been a topic of interest with me. I just think there have been too many reported incidents to lead us to conclude that they are not among us and/ or traveling back and forth to their home.

Gordon Cooper has been one of my favorite astronauts and John Glenn also saw evidence of what may have been extraterrestrials. It's all exciting and I am waiting to greet alien life if and when such life unveils itself to us more openly. My only UFO experience was probably an experimental aircraft made right here in Central Ohio at a North American Rockwell in the early 1980s.
In Glenn's first flights and orbits in space, he saw unique-looking lights following beside his vehicle. NASA reported that these lights were not from any living thing, but the public did not fully believe that. At age 93, Glenn is still teaching at the University here in Central Ohio, but does not speak about those lights. Perhaps he will talk about them again.

MG Singh, thank you for coming by and commenting! I think most people believe there are intelligent beings elsewhere in the universe because it is so vast. It would be arrogant (IMHO) to imagine we humans on this planet are the only such beings in all that space.
So the question is not so much whether intelligent beings exist elsewhere in the universe, but whether there are such extraterrestrial beings observing us, visiting our planet, or actually living among us. What does the sacred Gita say about that?
MG Singh from UAE on May 26, 2014:

Thank you for coming by Sam (samowhamo). How does a lizard-like person disguise themselves as a human? Wouldn't they have scales or beady eyes or something that would give them away?
I can see how extremely advanced 'people' might be able to appear looking different than they do in fact look, but why would they want to fit in with humans anyway?
samowhamo on April 29, 2014:
Thank you Au Fait. To me 60 degrees or higher is my ideal temperature. There is another race of aliens that I have heard of known as the Reptilians which are lizard people who supposedly are living among us in disguise as humans.

Thank you for stopping by Sam.
Prometheus sounds like it has aliens like those that were found after the spacecraft crash in Roswell. I doubt a bunch of aliens who crashed their spacecraft or their cohorts would be capable of creating an intelligent life form, but I guess truth can be stranger than fiction.
I was just reminding you to monitor your questions. Yes, if you weren't a member of HP all of your articles would disappear. Glad you are enjoying great weather and getting outside. Here, our weather is not really normal. We usually have consistently hot weather by now, but for some reason this year we are getting some cooler days mixed in. I'm not complaining. 60 degrees F. for the high during the day would suit me perfectly.
samowhamo on April 22, 2014:
Thank you Au Fait. Your comment reminds me of a movie that I saw called Prometheus. Its about humans discovering aliens. They learn that the aliens (they call them Engineers) created the human race as well as all other life on Earth making the aliens god-like. They look almost exactly like humans except they are taller, they have pure white skin, their eyes are different from human eyes (I forgot how their eyes are different but I think they are either all black or their pupils are a different shape) and they have no hair anywhere on their bodies.
If a planet has conditions on it similar to Earth than yes it could produce similar life.
I have picked the best answers to my questions and answered them. Sorry I didn't do that earlier but the weather here has been so lovely lately that I have been out enjoying it (I guess I have been a bit lazy on my hubpage lately but I am still a member of hubpages).

Thank you for stopping by Sam (samowhamo). Yes, I have heard about Kepler-186f. Since it is even more ideal for life than Earth, according to some scientists, I wonder if it has some human or human-like intelligent beings there? Wouldn't that be an exciting discovery if they looked just like us, but were just a few eons more evolved?
samowhamo on April 18, 2014:
I recently read that they found an Earth-like planet and its the most Earth-like one yet. The conditions on it are pretty good for supporting life, its sun is not too far or too close and it may have water.
By the way I have fixed the comment section on my new article (I forgot to put the comment section in) so you can leave your comment there now. Hope you are well Au Fait.
C E Clark (author) from North Texas on April 08, 2014:
Good to see you Sam! I have heard of the multi-universe theory, and Star Trek the First Generation even did a segment on it. I think this whole world is a huge puzzle and nothing would surprise me. Where did everything that we think of as reality come from? Where did God come from? For a person who believes in the big bang of evolution, where did all the particles and dust etc. come from that turned into what it is now? What is the ultimate origin of everything in our world? Everything.
samowhamo on April 05, 2014:
Have you ever heard of the multiverse theory. Its the theory that there are other universes besides this one based on the finite or infinite possibilities that exist in time and space. For example in this universe America won WW2 but maybe in another universe Germany won. Another example would be that in this universe cartoon characters are not real but in another universe they could be as real as you and me.

Thank you Sam, for pinning this article and stopping by to let me know.
To post a link on your profile page (what you are referring to as your "front page" here on HP), go to your profile page and click on 'edit.'
Open another window on your computer and go to your Pinterest page. Copy the URL of that page and then paste it into the space on your profile page on HP where it says 'Links.' Once you have located 'Links' on your profile page (it's right under your 'Bio,' go down to where it says 'Pinterest.' Paste the URL from your main Pinterest page in that box.
Next, go down to the bottom of your profile page and click on 'save changes.'
Then go back up to the top of the profile page to the drop down menu under 'Samowhamo.' Click on 'my profile.'
When your profile page comes back up (refreshes) check the upper right corner where it says "also follow me on" to see if an icon for Pinterest is there. If it is, click on it and see if it takes you to the page you want it to take people to on your Pinterest account. If it does, then you're all set. If it doesn't, then go through these instructions again to make sure you didn't leave something out.

Hi Au Fait i just wanted to let you know that I have started my own Pinterest account (I will post a link to it on my front page when I figure out how) and I have pinned this to my Xenobiology (A.K.A. The Study Of Aliens) board this article is interesting.
C E Clark (author) from North Texas on December 29, 2013:
Sam (samowhamo) thank you for your continued interest in strange possibilities in our world.
I don't really worry about our world being deleted, if in fact it were a computer simulation. If that happened none of us would know it. We'd simply cease to exist -- unless we're just living our lives in our minds anyway and actually sitting in a nice safe classroom somewhere.
God says in the Bible that we are in His hands and safe so long as we have faith in Him. Nothing on this planet can kill our souls and that is the part of us that is truly us -- our intelligence, our emotions, our thoughts, and our experiences, etc. We just live in these human bodies much like we live in houses and apartments. We can't move around from body to body like we do houses etc., but when we die we will leave these bodies behind like an empty husk.
Regardless of whether our world is a computer simulation or not, I believe God is in charge and see to our safety as He promised. That is what faith is all about. Trusting that God is in charge of our lives and that He will do as He promised if we accept His offer to us.
Yes, scientists are human and therefore fallible. All this is interesting to consider, but there is no proof and probably won't be any ironclad proof in your lifetime. So relax and get a good sleep.
samowhamo on December 28, 2013:
Thank you Au Fait. The thing that bothers me about the idea of living inside a simulation is the possibility that it could be deleted than what would happen to us. Most of the experts on the idea however say that its unlikely it would be deleted for a few reasons though its not impossible. I still don't believe we are living in a simulation though even though people say that there is more evidence emerging that we might be living in one that doesn't mean the evidence is true because evidence can be misinterpreted and false either intentionally or unintentionally and its also possible that this supposed evidence they have could also just be unknown laws of science and physics that we don't know yet. For example some people say that there are codes of some kind in the universe well that doesn't mean that it's a simulation the universe is capable of making those codes itself and not all people who say the universe is a simulation believe it literally is a simulation some believe it is only in a metaphorical sense.
C E Clark (author) from North Texas on December 28, 2013:
Thank you for stopping by Sam (samowhamo). I don't know where proof of our world being a computer simulation would come from. It is all based on the judgment of inferior beings. As you know, science, by it's nature, is always learning new things and making new discoveries which in turn reflect on what they thought was 'fact' previously, but which sometimes (more often than you think) has to be modified or changed as a result of the new information.
Since everything is science as in life itself is constantly changing, I fail to see how it would be possible for humans to determine we are living in a computer simulated world or that we ourselves have somehow created that world.
I think it would be interesting if in fact this world were computer simulated. If it were that would seem to indicate intelligent design and that what we who believe think of as God does in fact exist and is in charge just as He says He is. If in fact this world is a computer simulation, what would be the purpose of that? Is it a way of helping people learn things first hand without having to be in danger of any kind? Is it simply someone's entertainment? Is this world in fact, a giant classroom? There are lots of possibilities. I don't think they're so much scary as interesting and thought provoking.
Since science is still in the early stages judging by the fact that we can't control even the simplest things (common cold, flu, cancer, diabetes, birth defects both physical and mental, etc.) I would be truly amazed if science were capable of proving this world is a computer simulation.
Hope 2014 will be a great year for you and your family Sam! Take care . . .
samowhamo on December 26, 2013:
Something else I wanted to ask you. People are saying that there is more evidence that we are in a simulation created by an intelligent designer or designers. If they say there is proof does that necessarily mean that it really is proof or is it possible that it could just be misinterpretation.
samowhamo on December 26, 2013:
Some people have come out with videos and papers saying that there is evidence that we are probably living in a simulation somehow made by us. Here is a link to a video if you are interested.
C E Clark (author) from North Texas on December 26, 2013:
My dreams often feel very real. If they didn't deal with the same things I deal with in this world I might think I was taking a break from this world and going back to the one I really belong in for a little while (the plot thickens).
Since a simulated world doesn't negate God and it could be a way of us learning and moving forward, I think it could be possible, but we're a long way from proving that just as with all the other theories out there. Not anything worth losing sleep over.
Take care . .
samowhamo on December 21, 2013:
Another theory that I wanted to mention is called the Simulation Hypothesis. The Simulation Hypothesis is a theory that the reality that we are living is a computer simulation made up by evolved humans known as post-humans, aliens or intelligent machines. There is also a similar hypothesis known as the Dream Hypothesis which is the theory that we are living in a dream. Transhumanists sometimes argue and debate over the Simulation Hypothesis arguing and debating how its true or false, probable or improbable and likely or unlikely.
I don't believe in the Simulation Hypothesis or the Dream Hypothesis. If we were living in a simulation than I don't think post-humans or aliens or intelligent machines would want us to know or even think that its a simulation I don't know how strong that argument is but that's my argument and I think that if we were living in a dream we would eventually know about it because last time I checked dreams don't feel this real. What are your views Au Fait and how likely do you think these theories are true or false and if you are interested here is a link to what it says on Wikipedia.

Thank you Sam, for reading this article and theorizing about this issue. What you say is possible, but I rather think they look at us as we look on the lower creatures on our planet -- not worth interacting or exchanging ideas/information with.

Thank you Shyron, for the votes, the shares, etc. The presidents didn't just see UFOs, they admitted that aliens exist and that they're watching us.
samowhamo on December 06, 2013:
Some people ask if aliens do exist why haven't they made contact with us. Well there are actually a number of theories why they haven't contacted us one of the best theories is known as the Zoo Hypothesis. The Zoo Hypothesis is the theory that the reason why aliens don't contact us is because they believe that contacting us would disturb and interfere with our natural evolution and development and that once human civilization reaches a certain stage of technological, scientific, political and ethical development they will contact and interact with us.

Thank you Sam (Samowhamo) for explaining some of the different kinds of life, different from our own that is, that could possibly exist. I doubt most people would recognize that they were in the presence of alien life if they were very different from ourselves. They could exist beside us without our even knowing.
Lots of people seem to think at least some of the alien life that has visited here, or may even be living here amongst us looks just like us, so we think they are one of us . . .
Hope all is well with you and your family.
samowhamo on October 29, 2013:
This reminds me of something that my dad thinks about aliens. My dad think that a person would have to be crazy not to believe in aliens. There are billions of planets in this galaxy alone and there are billions of galaxies in the whole universe each one containing billions of planets which means that there are so many planets in the whole universe that's its impossible for humans to count them all Earth can't be the only one with life on it. My dad also says that God is a creator (so says the Bible) and if God is a creator then why would he put all of his eggs (life) in one basket (Earth) wouldn't it make more sense for God to put life on other planets too.
Aliens don't have to have science and technology like what we see in the movies they could but they don't have to they could also be some kind of animal life or planet life or even microscopic life. Life here on Earth is carbon based life meaning carbon is one of the key ingredients for life on Earth but life can also be made from other elements such as silicone making it silicone based life it wouldn't be life as we understand life here on Earth but it would still be life.
In the movie Alien (that movie directed by Ridley Scott with Sigourney Weaver staring in it) they find out that the alien is a silicone based life form because it sheds its cells and replaces them with polarized silicone (I know that only a movie but there is some evidence that silicone based life might be possible). Its also possible that life on other planets could be very much like life here on Earth if the conditions on that planet were similar to the conditions here on Earth.

Thank you Deborah-Diane for reading and sharing your experience and thoughts on this issue! Also for pinning this article. I think it is so cool that you were able to visit the Mayan ruins. You should write an article for HP about that. While I have nothing to back it up, I often think 'aliens' are living among us and that we may be rubbing shoulders, figuratively speaking, with them everyday.
Deborah-Diane from Orange County, California on July 25, 2013:
This is very interesting. I wrote an article on another site about the research regarding aliens, UFO's and Area 51. There is credible evidence out there that aliens have not only visited, but we have had some kind of interaction with them. I also visited the Mayan ruins, including Palenque, which is sometimes referred to as the tomb of the spaceman. The carving on his sarcophagus definitely looks like an American space capsule from the 1960s. Thanks for your informative article. I am posting this to my Interesting Articles board.
C E Clark (author) from North Texas on June 30, 2013:
psbhatt, thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts on this article! If a person thinks about it, there are a lot of different possibilities where alien life with intelligence is concerned.
PISUPATI SRINIVAS BHATT from HYDERABAD on June 28, 2013:
Aliens are definitely advanced than us if they belonged to older civilizations. But they would have also realized the follies of invading us as they may not have back up resources to such campaigns. They too have to travel incredible distances to control us billions of humans and rule us. Note this from a fellow who might have been an alien in his past life.

C E Clark (author) from North Texas on June 20, 2013:
Thank you samowhamo, for reading and commenting on this hub. Appreciate you candor, especially since you seem to have a scientific kind of mind from what I can tell. You really need to write more hubs about prehistoric times and the like. I really enjoy reading them.
Agree that with so many planets in the universe, many that we haven't even discovered yet, along with undiscovered solar systems, etc., that it is arrogance to imagine we are alone. Especially in such a vast universe.
I think if people would read their Bibles instead of using them for coffee table books to impress guests, or a doorstop, they would see that even the Bible says that God gave all of His worlds (plural) to His Son. For some reason people who can't deal with the idea of more than one planet and one civilization in the universe like to think the s on the end of world is a typo -- the ones that even know it's there.
I don't know if extraterrestrials are here among us, but I'd bet they're out there somewhere, and if they're far advanced from ourselves, and there's no reason to think they couldn't be, then they may be watching us from home -- sort of like reality TV. :) Why come to this messed up planet if you can watch us destroy ourselves safely from home?
samowhamo on June 16, 2013:
Very interesting. I believe absolutely that aliens exist in fact I think a person would have to be crazy not to think there is life on another planet there are more planets in the universe then humans can possibly count Earth can't be the only one with life on it.
C E Clark (author) from North Texas on June 16, 2013:
samowhamo, that's a great promotion for your hub, now what have you to say about this hub?
samowhamo on June 14, 2013:
If you are interested Au Fait I have just written an article about werewolves (which I think could be real) if you would like to read.

Thank you samowhamo (Sam) for reading and commenting on this hub. I'm really not into fiction. I read it a lot, including science fiction, when I was younger, but now I'm more interested in reading about reality. I'm not sure science fiction can come up with anything more unusual or strange than reality does where extraterrestrials, aliens, and space ships are concerned.
samowhamo on April 23, 2013:
Interesting article I absolutely do believe in aliens. If you are interested in aliens and science fiction I just finished an article about some aliens of my own. You can call me Sam if you like.
C E Clark (author) from North Texas on April 20, 2013:
Thank you rasta1 for reading and commenting on this article. Many people wonder just like you, why the existence of aliens from other planets is being kept a secret -- if in fact they are here and if in fact they are from a different planet(s?). You ask a good question and many people would like to know the answer.
Marvin Parke from Jamaica on April 15, 2013:
A very convincing article. The question is if they do exist, why are they being kept a secret? The spaceships people see may be inter-terrestrial technology.
C E Clark (author) from North Texas on April 08, 2013:
Thank you nanderson500 for reading and commenting on this hub! It is more difficult to poo-poo an astronaut who knows his stuff, knows what he's looking at, and who has been there. They went out on a limb to report what they saw and experienced and I think they are/were sincere.
I rather think what one of my commenters said a few days ago makes sense. I think the aliens are us -- another words people like us who look like us, but who are extremely advanced compared to us and probably the reason we are here.
C E Clark (author) from North Texas on April 07, 2013:
Sneha Sunny, thank you for reading and commenting on this hub. I think it's possible that the reason we can't find proof of aliens in our environment is because they may very well be us. A more advanced civilization of our own species and so they look just like us. Just as we are more advanced than some people on this planet, so there may be other people on planets nearby who are more advanced than ourselves.
C E Clark (author) from North Texas on April 07, 2013:
Thank you Brett.Tesol for reading, commenting, voting on, and sharing this hub in all those different ways! I, too, have read about the theory that this is a planet colonized by people who are our ancestors and they live elsewhere in the universe and still keep their eye on us. There are so many different possibilities . . .
nanderson500 from Seattle, WA on April 03, 2013:
This subject has always interested me. Good article. Not sure what to think about these astronauts' claims.
