March 7, 1971 at the historic Racecourse Maidan (now Suhrawardy Udyan) 'This time the struggle is for our liberation. In this year's struggle, the struggle for independence, Bangabandhu called for a fight in the hope of achieving a non-communal Bangladesh, the country's brave boys jumped into the war of liberation. After a long and bloody struggle of nine months, the freedom fighters liberated the motherland at the cost of 3 million lives. On the day of the victory, the Pakistan Army was forced to surrender to the joint command of the Mukti Bahini and the Indian Allied Forces. Independent Bangladesh emerged on the world map. The most glorious chapter in the self-made history of Bengalis is the liberation war of '71, this victory.
Bangabandhu was the first to awaken the Bengali nation, which had been chained for thousands of years, to the mantra of independence by listening to the song. Agnijhara sang the indestructible song of liberation in March 1971 on the eve of the uninterrupted movement and struggle of two long eras. During the non-cooperation movement, when the Pakistan Army launched a surprise attack on unarmed Bengalis at midnight on March 25, 1971, in the early hours of March 26, Bangabandhu declared the independence of Bangladesh and called on the people to resist the aggressors. Bangladesh woke up with strong resistance to the declaration of independence. People's war started. During the nine months of the War of Liberation, the occupying Pakistan army continued to violate human rights through indiscriminate genocide, torture of women, looting and arson. The children of some of the culprits of this country helped them in this indiscriminate killing. They formed Razakars, Al-Badr, Al-Shams and oppressed the unarmed Bengalis.Other radical political parties, including Jamaat-e-Islami, engaged in propaganda against the liberation war of Bangladesh at home and abroad.
On the other hand, soon after the declaration of independence, Bangabandhu was taken prisoner and taken to the then West Pakistan. However, according to his path and plan, the revolutionary government of Bangladesh took oath on 17 April in Mujibnagar. After the war of liberation led by this expatriate government known as Mujibnagar government, on 16 December 1971, 93,000 soldiers of the occupying Pakistan army surrendered to the joint command of the Mukti Bahini and the Indian Allied Forces at Suhrawardy Udyan.
Bangladesh was divided into 11 sectors to conduct the war of liberation under the Provisional Government.Towards the end of the War of Liberation, in early December, a joint command was formed between the Mukti Bahini and the Indian Allied Forces. In mid-December, the occupying Pakistani forces began to retreat after being beaten by the joint forces. The freedom fighters started marching towards Dhaka flying victory flags from all sides. Freedom of Bengalis was achieved, dear Bangladesh was freed from aggression.
Today is December 16th. The day of realization of the dream of the Bengali nation. Today is the day - the pain of losing relatives and the joy of tears in the joy of independence, victory day. May the conviction of this Victory Day be to build a happy, prosperous, golden Bangladesh. On Victory Day, I remember with deep respect those who have achieved great freedom through self-sacrifice.
