Nuggets Are Forever

Elle Fredine (RedElf), photographer, published author, Elle loves seeking out new writers, and catching up with old friends

The name is Elf...Red Elf

"My team and I have just successfully concluded our mission. We faced incredible personal danger to secure this list for you - this week's roster of HubNugget Wannabes. This information must get out - for the benefit of online writers everywhere. These ten wannabe hubs have been selected to vie for the coveted status of HubNugget - the rest is up to you!"

The scene - a lonely, deserted back street in the myriad by-ways of Hub Pages. Under the fitful glare of a single street lamp, a dark figure waits motionless, trench coat buttoned against the dank chill of the moonless night, slouch hat pulled down, casting deep shadows across the chiseled profile. The figure casts a sharp glance back up the street behind you, making sure you haven't been followed, and beckons you forward.

"Quick - we don't have much time. They're waiting for me back at le bistro Chez Nuggetry. Just listen...don't talk! I have the information right here..." *reaches inside trench-coat and pulls out a plain manila envelope* "Take this!" *curious, you start to peek inside* "Stop! Don't open it now! Someone might see you! *looks around to make sure no-one is near enough to overhear* You first have to seek out the capsule below. Only then it will be safe to open the envelope! Read all the hubs - then, cast your vote..." *leans closer to whisper your final instructions before melting into the shadows* "It's all up to you now...don't fail us. Find the the hubs. Tell everyone you can - spread the word. All of Hub Pages is counting on you!"

The HubNuggets Team

Maddy Rudd, Hub Pages employee and co-head of the HN-T Department (the top secret HubNuggets Team), cloaks her true identity in her clever cover, that of mild-mannered Hub Pages Moderator and Communicator of Awesome Fairness.

Her co-lead Jason Menayan, Hub Pages employee in the highly-classified field of Top-Secret Marketing, is newly created Communicator of Awesomeness, helping Maddie fill the vacancy left by the MIA Hup, former head of the team.

Known only as "M", Shirley Anderson is the Mastermind behind our missions. Scorning to remain behind her keyboard, she throws herself into the thick of the fray. Her patience is legendary, and her keen eye for excellence has rescued many a deserving HubNugget Wannabe from the clutches of Hub-scurity.

B.T. EvilPants, Freelance writer, Jackalope-of-all-trades, connoisseur of butter tarts. His cover as a bon-vivant, world traveler and evil genius hides his true identity of "Q", master of spy-gadgets and gravy boats, as well as his unquestioned "nose" for nugget potential, no matter how diabolically camouflaged they may be - or he may be, for that matter.

Moneypenny Inglish, MS (Master Spy) - Freelance writer, fluent in many languages, including HubNugget speak. One of the first team members to receive the coveted "00" designation, her exploits in drawing deserving wannabes forth from the shadows are as legendary as her writing skills.

Ripplemaker - this hubber extraordinaire, font of amazing positivity, and driver of the recently re-outfitted HubMobile, flits from hub to hub spreading ripples of joy and good will - just what you'd expect from a top-notch HubNuggets Wannabe supporter

Zsuzsy Bee, has already gained an awesome reputation as a great hubber and fun, supportive gal. Her "00" designation is recent, but already, she laughs in the face of danger while scouring Hub Pages in search of likely candidates for HubNugget fame and glory.

...and "Elf - RedElf" (that's me) - author, poet, photographer, I'll have my nuggets shaken, not stirred. and while you're at it, please pass the butter tarts to the jackalope.

John Harper from Malaga, Spain on December 12, 2009:

Hi RedElf.... it just said how much I wanted to win the contest, 'cos it means more readers and I like that, but that there are other fine hubs here, and you didn't pick my best one (IMO) so I probably won't win.... inconsolable crying from corner.... ;o)

Nice to meet you, ncmonroe1981. Thanks so much - glad you caught that flavor. So pleased to have helped give you a nudge to keep writing ;) I look forward to reading more from you!

ncmonroe1981 from West Virginia on December 11, 2009:

RedElf: I love your humorous, "film noir" style for this hub; it makes for an interesting and informative read. Great layout! And since I've only been here a few days, it definitely inspires me to work even harder to publish great hubs and become an active, friendly, part of the community. Yay! Hub Nuggets!

RedElf (author) from Canada on December 11, 2009:

Thanks so much, Papa Sez - you are right, it's too much fun. The files will self-destruct. You don't even need to dump your browser's cache :) or you'll get rid of the top-secret cookie that we...Oops - darn, I forgot that was supposed to be a secret! Never mind, Papa **whistling innocently** You just go and vote and we'll take care of everything else...

Papa Sez from The Philippines to Canada on December 11, 2009:

Very creative Agent Elf. Now we have ten files to read, analyze, scrutinize and burn after (oops just checking... do we have to do the burning part or will the files self-destruct??).

I see your having so much fun making this hub. I'm sure the readers will enjoy it...I know I have.

RedElf (author) from Canada on December 11, 2009:

Many thanks, M (oops, I mean Shirley). That's right - I thought the "chiseled profile" might be a dead give-away though. If I tell you I'd have to... Wait, what am I supposed to do if I tell you? I can never remember - or is that "If I tell you, I'd have to give you the butter tarts?" - something equally spy-like, I'm sure.

Shirley Anderson from Ontario, Canada on December 10, 2009:

Excellent, RedElf! Top drawer! You didn't even reveal the name of our man in the, alley.

I'd tell you whether or not I've voted but I'm not sure what your security clearance is. Let's meet under the Dome of Silence, just to make sure know one overhears us. Ssh! The walls have ears. *slinks away and disappears down a manhole*

RedElf (author) from Canada on December 10, 2009:

Tanks so much, ladies! Zsuzsy Bee, it was tough - there are so many great photos of us out there! Almost as many as there are great Hubs!

Patty Inglish, es verdad, no? Ooooh goody, I love awards! We can give one to each of these wannabes! So glad you stopped by to vote.

Patty Inglish MS from USA and Asgardia, the First Space Nation on December 10, 2009:

"Flattery will get you nowhere... but don't stop trying. " - from Dr. No or is that Dr. N-00?

What a delightful presentation and all strictly in order, not giving away any security combinations. We must give you a Top Secret Award for this Hub. And all the Wannabes are winners in their own rights. Congratulations! And my vote is in. Hope all our readers vote as well.

Zsuzsy Bee from Ontario/Canada on December 10, 2009:

RedElf (leans closer to whisper) great hub. Our Canadian contingent pic is just perfect. I'm glad you chose that one because it gives me the sleek look that I'm really proud of. I almost didn't recognize myself.

Read, contemplated and Voted. All are great hubs, well deserving the nominated that's for sure.

regards Zsuzsy
