Google Adsense Publisher Program is Free!

I get contacted daily by people trying to make money from their websites. One question that I always ask them is "Do you want Google Adsense Ads on your Website?" This question confuses some people and return say to me: "I already have a Google Account." Many people get confused by Google Adsense and Google Adwords.

I am here to tell you that there is a big difference between the two programs. Many writers here on Hubpages already know the difference between the two Google programs. What is the difference between Adsense & Adwords?

Google Adsense is a Free program powered by Google that allows publishers to sign up and create Google Ads for Free and place them on their websites. These ads may or may not receive clicks from your Website visitors. You will earn money per click. Make sure you have enough text in your web pages to help Google approve your account and determine the type of ads that should be displayed on your web pages. These ads are developed by Google Adwords advertisers.

Make sure you read and follow the terms & conditions to these two programs. I know that with Google Adsense Publisher program, if you break the rules then it is extremely hard to activate your Adsense account again. Do Not tell people to click your Ads. Invalid clicks on Google Ads is the #1 reason why publishers get their accounts suspended. If you are making money from your google ads, getting your account suspended can be extremely frustrating to many.

What is Google Adsense?

"AdSense is a free, simple way to earn money by displaying ads next to your online content. ... The AdSense Program differs in that it delivers ads served by Google Ads to your site. Google then pays you for the ads displayed on your site based on user clicks on ads or on ad impressions, depending on the type of ad." - Quoted by support.google.com.

What is Google Adwords?

Google Adwords allows businesses and Website owners the ability to advertise on publishers websites. Google charges advertisers from Google Adwords per click on their Ad campaign. So if you want to pay Google to advertise your Business, you need to signup for a Google Adwords account. If you want to earn money by Google Ads, you must sign up for a free publisher account at Google Adsense.

Make sure you read the terms and conditions of both Google programs. Your business can benefit from both programs. Just remember, Google Adsense is Free and Google Adwords is not Free.

Google Adsense is a Publisher Program and Google Adwords is an Advertising Program.

"Google Ads, AKA Google AdWords, is Google's advertising system in which advertisers bid on certain keywords in order for their clickable ads to appear in Google's search results. Since advertisers have to pay for these clicks, this is how Google makes money from search." - quote from wordstream.com.

Tip: If you sign up for Google Adwords, be careful and keep an eye on your budget for your advertising campaign. If you are unfamiliar with how the program works, it may end up costing you a lot of money. From experience, I know that Google can automatically charge your card for as long as the campaign goes. So set a budget, read, and research before giving Google Adwords your credit card number. Don't be like me and just do it. Research first so that you don't have any unexpected charges for your advertisements.

After signing up for a Google Email, Google Adsense Account or a Google Adwords account, you may receive a Free Advertising Promo for Google Adwords. Most of the time they offer you $100 in free advertising credit. If you decide to sign up for this, be careful you don't go over your free advertising amount. Unless you want to pay more for Google advertising that is.

What happened with me was that I got that awesome email stating I was allowed $100 in free advertising. I signed up and entered my credit card information plus the google promo code, I started my advertising campaign. Then unfortunately a week later I was charged a whole bunch of money. I wasn't planning on spending that much money on advertising. So knowing what you are getting your self into first helps save you money and a headache. (No I never got refunded the money I didn't want to spend). Hopefully the same thing never happens to you.
