Hitting 100,000 Views Inside 8 Months on Hubpages: Stats, Earnings and More

Danson Wachira is a certified Trainer in Computer Science, Information Technology and related studies.

Well, what a surprise to have come this far and see my hubs reach 100,000 views under 8 months. I would say when you get used to Hubpages, you kind of become addicted. You feel missing some kind of company if a day or two passes on without having any activity on the site. Hubpages can be addictive but the interest of staying on also matters.

I never thought I would write articles that would be read 100,000 times, it therefore came as a surprise when I logged into my account only to be welcomed with a 100K Badge. This is not my individual achievement and there is no way I could have come this far without being on a wonderful platform like Hubpages and having support of fellow hubbers. So thank you! Thank you all!

Content writing

Content writing

One thing I really like about Hubpages is the way it has improved my skills in writing. I have a long way to go but certainly I am better than when I started.

There are days I felt depleted and occasionally I have hit the writers’ block, yet in other days, I was full of motivation and inspiration. I have since found that writing about topics of interests and in areas where you are knowledgeable is the best way to avoid writers’ block.

Hubpages has been amazing, it is a platform with a diverse community and you will always find something interesting every moment of the day. From hubs to forums, questions to comments, learning center to crafting new hubs, you can’t miss something to keep you going. When all these are backed up by a robust platform with a supportive community, it makes a worthy web experience.

The beautiful 100k accolade

The beautiful 100k accolade

Lately, I have found forums to be very interesting and sometimes things can really heat up there. One thing I have learnt in the forums is to always keep what you don’t know to yourself or post it as a question rather than rant in the forums. It can boil up there if you don’t have facts and/or figures to support your argument. All in all, forums are worthy places to experience healthy dialogues.

Overall, I would rate my performance on Hubpages as good mostly because I never get enough time to do all the things I seek to accomplish here owing to other commitments.

My writing has improved, I have met wonderful friends and I am already enjoying regular payout. I can’t ask for more, thank you Hubpages.

Being on Hubpages, I have seen good and bad days; anticipation, happiness, worries, low traffic, high traffic, low earnings, better earnings, useful comments, hilarious comments, met new friends, improved online content writing, heated forums and many more. Here are my stats on reaching the 100,000 views mark.

Ways to increase Hubs traffic

Over the short period that I have been here, I have experimented with different ways of improving hubs views and increasing traffic. Probably you can benefit too through these methods:

hitting-100-000-views-inside-8-months-on-hubpages-stats-earnings-and-more

But the best and natural way that I have found working in attracting readers is through writing content that are of interest to readers and which web users are looking for. Google keyword tool has been remarkable in finding web users’ trends. Although I am still struggling with use of keywords and how better to position keywords in my articles, I find writing naturally with as fewer keywords as possible as a better form of writing. Certainly, with Google Panda and Penguin on our heels, it is good to be safe.

If you have just joined Hubpages or you are just starting, my recommendation is that you stay around. Start by writing what you like, and more better, what you know. It takes time before one discovers what is working and what is not. Soon, you shall develop your own niche which is a better form of writing online contents. Hubpages community is one of the most supportive social groups you will ever find on the web. If you have not yet joined Hubpages, join today and start writing articles about what you like and earn along the way. I wish you all the best.

Paul Richard Kuehn from Udorn City, Thailand on April 16, 2013:

dwachira,

This is a great useful and interesting hub. Thanks for sharing your Hubpages experiences and congratulations on getting 100,000 views so quickly. It took me almost 24 months to reach this milestone. For a long time I was averaging about 250 views a day, but during the past week or two, views have increased to an average of 400 per day. With HP adprogram I haven't earned more than $1.00 a day, so your feat of getting $8.00 is really awesome. In addition to a great number of views, your CPM is obviously very high. I've been struggling to get an average CPM of $3.15. Your niche on computers and high tech is definitely giving you a high CPM. You also have been using Flipora very well. I know nothing about Chime.in so I must examine it. Congratulations on a job well-done. I have learned a lot from you. Voted up and sharing with followers.

Hi my dear dwachira,

It is really amazing to note you have hit 100,000 in just 8 months. You work well, write well and of course research well. The result is what all these. You are the luckiest fellow I saw far noticed on HP till date. It is nice to note that you are cooperative as well supportive by giving us helpful tips. I will celebrate my 1st anniversary here within 3 weeks and my viewership is just nearly 26000. I hope to reach 100,000 hits by my 2nd anniversary. To reach that milestone I will follow your tips and advice. If God too supports me, I am confident that I can achieve that badge. Wish you all the best. Thank you once again for your informative hubs.

Congratulations!! You have truly accomplished something amazing. You got to 100,000 a couple months faster, and with about 40 less Hubs, than I did! So keep the faith. I am up to 1.4 million Page Views now and you will be too.

Thank you for sharing. You should be very proud. Few have achieved your level of success on HubPages in that length of time. Well done!

I agree with you that the best way to write here is write interesting and high quality hubs without worrying too much about keyword density. I've seen this work best for me too.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful hub.

Good job on reaching 100k views. Yesterday I've reached my 100 views milestone, for most people 100 views isn't that important, but for me as a beginner it gives me courage to keep on going. I've bookmarked this hub because there are a lot of useful links in here in case I need help getting more traffic.

Nicely written hub, I really enjoyed reading it. Thanks for sharing your information to the community.

Hi HoneyBB,

Thanks for the visit and comment. By being in the forums, i have come to learn a lot and i do believe forums are very useful places to have healthy dialogues.

kidscrafts from Ottawa, Canada on January 22, 2013:

Thank you for your intersting article! I am way far behind you in statistics but it's really fantastic to see that you are doing so well and I am looking forward to read you in you coming hubs!

You are right that writing articles, improves the writing; I saw that for myself. My first language is French and I write for my websites in both French and English and I can see it's coming easily to write my content. Hopefully, I can post more articles in hubpages as well in a not to distant future!

Thank you also for the table with all the statistics. Two weeks ago, I started a database with all my statistics (Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, etc.) to see if I was progressing and I think that seeing the numbers will hopefully motivate me more to continue. The beginning of a business is always hard!

Voted up and interesting!

H Lax on January 22, 2013:

Congrats on reaching over 100,000 views. That's amazing! I will have to check out some of the sites you reccommend to increase my traffic. Your experiences here on hubpages resemble so many of mine and I'm sure so many other hubbers. Most of us can relate to much of what you have shared here. Your advice about carefully planning your replies in forums is something everyone should take with appreciation. As writer's, many of us find it hard to keep our big mouths shut at times...lol. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed reading this.

Hi Wesman,

I see your point about forums, i was in one where the contributor looked more inclined to one side and struggling to get facts right even if the topic seemed vividly obvious, it is true we could have paid posters there with "paid ordered instructions." Thanks for the visit and comment.

Leanna Stead from North Carolina, United States on January 19, 2013:

Firt - congratulations! :)

I've been signed up with HubPages for much longer than I've been composing Hubs. Seeing this not only gives me incentive, but helps me target reasonable and achievable goals for getting my name out there as a freelance writer. Thank you for sharing!

Wesman Todd Shaw from Kaufman, Texas on January 19, 2013:

I can't recall how long it took me to get to one hundred K...but I know it was more than a year. I might ought to pay more attention to you :)

So far as those forums go...there are corporations that will pay people to preach their agendas on forums just like these on Hubpages...and if you pay attention, you'll easily see just who is most likely a paid poster. There is no point in engaging those persons....I do like to see what they are saying, so I can start writing something stating the opposite.

Danson Wachira (author) from Nairobi, Kenya on January 19, 2013:

Hi Mhatter99 ,
