People do hard work when it comes to doing online business, but do not get the end result, which means no traffic to their website.
1) Leverage Website Traffic
If you’re serious about making money online, then you have to first be serious about getting traffic. Fortunately, there are many ways you can do so effectively. For example, through pay-per-click advertising or by leveraging social media and your business networks. This way, you’ll be able to get your offers in front of thousands (or even millions) of people at once and generate large amounts of business leads on autopilot.
2) Look at Your Competitors' Outreach
When you think about getting more traffic, it can feel overwhelming. Sure, there are tools out there that will help you with your social media posting and email campaigns, but in reality, if your business is new, chances are you’re not going to get much traction using those channels.
Chances are if a competitor is able to get consistent traffic from their site, they’re going to be doing something differently than what you’re currently doing. It can be hard sometimes to break down your competitor's strategy, but one good place to start is by looking at how they approach to outreach.
3) Promote your offers with the help of email autoresponders
When people opt into your email list, they’re telling you that they like what you’re doing and are interested in buying what you have.
This means that your email list is gold—it’s a captive audience of interested buyers who already know you, love what you do, and are ready to buy whatever it is that you have.
That makes email autoresponders an absolute must for generating traffic. If you don’t have an autoresponder yet, start by trying Getresponse. It’s one of my favorites because it’s so easy to use, has great reporting options, and has good conversion rates, recently more useful features were added.
Many bloggers recommend MailChimp, but I think it has too many features (and confusing ones) for newbies. Start with Getresponse if you want something simple that just works!
4) Evaluate all channels with a conversion funnel
It’s easy to get distracted by finding traffic sources that seem exciting and fast. But if you don’t know where that traffic is going, you won’t be able to track your results effectively, which means you won’t have any idea whether or not it works.
In order to measure ROI accurately, make sure you look at your website as a conversion funnel: How are visitors getting in? Where are they dropping off? And how can you use each of those stages as an opportunity for improvement?
5) Join relevant traffic exchange programs
This is a great way to drive traffic without having to resort to Search Engine Optimization (SEO) or social media marketing. Once you’ve joined an exchange program, you can post your site and other members will visit it in return for viewing your page and clicking on it.
The best part is that traffic from exchange programs doesn’t have a negative impact on SEO! In fact, joining these programs helps improve search rankings by reinforcing inbound links and providing free traffic.
This can dramatically reduce how much time you spend maintaining your website while also driving more viewers. Use a service like Traffic Force Exchange or Offer Loot to find legitimate traffic exchanges quickly. Then join as many as possible.
6) Buy targeted Facebook ads
Facebook is probably one of your biggest potential traffic sources. This is because everyone is on Facebook, and it's easy to buy targeted ads on Facebook.
Facebook makes it pretty easy, but you'll want to spend a little bit of time playing around with what type of targeting works best for your business and finding out where your target audience hangs out online.
Don't forget, you'll also need a strong landing page when sending people off from Facebook, or they won't convert.
7) Use keywords effectively in your landing pages, articles, content posts, etc. to rank high on search engines for free organic search traffic
Search engines have put a lot of emphasis on keywords in recent years, and rightfully so. Optimizing your content with relevant keywords will not only help you rank better in search engines but also get more visitors who are interested in that topic. It’s a win-win!
So make sure to take some time out of your week to do keyword research so you can pick out words and phrases that relate best to what your business offers. If you need help figuring out which words should be included in your page, consider using the Google AdWords Keyword Planner tool, which makes suggestions based on what people are actually searching for online right now.
When choosing which terms are right for you, it’s important to think about what products or services you offer.
8) Utilize local online directories such as Yelp, Tabelog, etc. to get more business leads
Yelp is by far one of my favorite ways to get free business leads. It’s easy, local, and it just works! Simply open a Yelp account and add your company information, including your website link and any additional information you wish.
Then, set up an online listing directly through Yelp or connect your Google Places listing (which will automatically be updated).
This is a great way to find potential clients in your area that are looking for services like yours. It’s easy and you don’t have to pay anything extra!
9) Look at the backlink profile of top-ranking websites and try replicating their technique
One of the most powerful ways to make sure your website gets a lot of traffic is by looking at what already works.
One very good technique is by looking at backlink profiles and seeing which websites are getting a lot of search engine traffic and how they're getting it. There are dozens of tools out there that can show you who's linking to any particular site, but using them on just one or two websites doesn't really work as well.
Using them across a large swath of ranking sites will give you insights into where others have found success, so you can duplicate those tactics on your own site! You might be surprised at what works from one industry to another or business-to-business (B2B vs. B2C).
10) Utilize Reddit To Grow Website Traffic
Reddit is one of my favorite websites and one that provides some of my most valuable traffic as well. If you are in a niche with large, active communities on Reddit, there’s huge potential.
Users love sharing interesting content with their friends. Give them something great and they will share it with their friends. Don’t try to sell anything right away, though.
Just focus on building trust with your community by providing them with value over time—for example, by answering questions and providing free advice.
There is no quick way around it. If you want traffic, then you have to give something away that people want in exchange.
Building an audience and building trust is much harder than just advertising, but if done right, it will provide you with a more reliable source of traffic. It may be difficult at first and seem like nothing is working, but stick with it and do not give up.
It took many months of hard work to build my audience and make my free traffic efforts pay off in a big way. Once your traffic begins rolling in, you will see that all of your hard work was worth it!
