Telecommuting is the Workplace of the Future
This pandemic has certainly changed the way we all work. While economic times are tough, people are in dire need of extra money, and scanning the online search engines can often be very frustrating.
I have a full-time job for a FinTech startup, and I work in my pajamas in my home office. This company is based on the East Coast, and I live in the Southwest. I make a great living, I have full health benefits, and I don't have to hop in my car and fight traffic every day. Sound too good to be true? It isn't. I've worked for this company for almost a year, and I found it on a fantastic site few people know about, www.ratracerebellion.com. Remote working has become a necessary evil since Covid-19 took over, and there are dozens of employment sites to help you find the perfect home-based job.
I also suffer from terrible insomnia, so I write. My degree is in journalism, so I have experience writing, but I also found that by sharing my thoughts and my experience, I can also make money writing from home. Blogging and Social Media Jobs pay quite well if you have experience. Get a good portfolio together first and send it with your cover letter.
One of my first remote positions was as an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher. I started with a Russian school called Englishdom. I taught adults and teens who wanted to learn conversational English. I had no prior teaching experience, so I went to an online program and got certified in TESOL, and as a native English speaker, I do have something to offer. Another great school to work for is Cambly. The pay is about $10/hr but the work is very easy.
Be careful of sites that ask for money. There are plenty of job search sites with legit posts and you should never pay to work anywhere. Here are some of my favorites:
I would probably be better off sleeping than juggling all of these jobs, but I figure it this way...if I am up, I might as well be making money!
