A Review of the International Business Management Institute

What Is the International Business Management Institute (IBMI)?

The International Business Management Institute (IBMI) is an online school with a focus on business. Classes, along with various programs (including the mini-MBA program), are offered. It is centered in Germany, but people from all over the world can take classes. In 2020, I studied at the school. I took a number of classes, got my mini-MBA, and received a score on my Spanish skills. I enjoyed this charming school.

IBMI in the Media

Interestingly, and definitely to IBMI's credit, IBMI was listed as one of "the best American and European institutions" by The Los Angeles Tribune. This is no small praise, and it was amazing to see this kind of love. IBMI is placed after Harvard Business School in their article.

Britain Daily calls IMBI the "most affordable." The school is relatively cheap. I have never encountered yearly tuition costs; as far as I am aware, only the classes and certain tests cost anything at all.

Digital Weekday also covered IBMI. These articles have helped make the institute recognizable to the greater populace. This coverage adds a level of legitimacy to the school's presence. The mentioned articles are available near the bottom of this article for those who are interested.

Courses and Exams Offered

The school offers a number of courses and tests. The courses aren't free, nor are they particularly expensive. Completing the courses takes hours of study and participation. The courses typically include exams.

Language Tests

Among their offered materials are language tests. The institute contains general as well as business tests for English, French, Spanish, and German. The fact that they include "general" and "business" tests gives me hope that the school will expand from its focus on business education. I took their "general" Spanish test. After taking a test, the student gets certified proof of participation and a grade from the test. I've included a copy of my certificate from this further below.

Programs Offered

One of the most intriguing programs must be that of the mini-MBA program. I received my mini-MBA from IBMI. One must finish six specific courses successfully to gain this credential, and afterward, one can request an official transcript from the institute.

The program is fairly difficult, and it is definitely time-consuming, but I feel that such a credential is worth the time and effort. There are also other programs available. I've considered taking four specific courses to get a certificate in "global governance," but I have yet to make time to do this. There are a decent number of programs at IBMI, and there could be more in the future.

Accreditation

I have yet to find anything about any accrediting bodies recognizing IBMI. It is my own personal hope that their courses could, one day, become CPD accredited. This would appear more than possible, following Alison and Shaw Academy's accreditations. I hope the institute goes on to seek accreditation, but there is no way to know yet what the future has in store.

The Takeaway

My concluding thoughts are that IBMI is a nice school that offers good-quality materials at reasonable prices. The absence of accreditation saddens me, but the esteem the school has received gives me much hope.

I will likely participate in more of their programs in the following years, and I had fun learning from the school. I believe the institute has great potential. It is respected by many, and it's relatively affordable.
