There are people who are successful in their life and career because they can manage their time well. Those who can manage their time in the best way possible can really do wonders in life.

If you check the history of any successful people they all become great because of their ability to stick to one great idea and ability to manage time.

In this article, I am going to share simple yet effective time management tips that can definitely help you to change your life drastically. I personally use them on daily basis as a digital entrepreneur.

Write Down Your Next Day Tasks At Night

The first important tip for time management is you have to make a habit of writing your next day task at night. Your actual work starts at night. You have to prepare yourself mentally a day before.

This is how champions prepare and work. For example, an athlete will not prepare the same day. He will prepare and practice a few days before so he can give his best. In the same way, learn to prepare a day before.

It is not a hard task to do. You just need to spend at least ten to fifteen minutes and you will be mentally ready for the next day. Every night, I sit quietly in my office and write down all the major tasks which I need to complete the next day, then I set a particular time and then I go to sleep.

Learn To Do The Most Important Task First

Every morning when you open your eyes, check your daily task. It may be possible that you may have to take care of at least seven to ten tasks. Out of these, there may be some tasks that are always important.

Learn to give priorities to those tasks. If you can finish and complete the most important tasks first, then for the rest of the day you may get more time to do the less urgent task.

In whatever stage you are in your career and life, some tasks are more important than others. So, learn to focus on them. And if possible learn to delegate other less important work to others.

Remove Distractions From Your Daily Routine

Way back in 2009, when I was working in Dentsu Communications Pvt. Ltd. at that time Facebook was new for us. So, most of the employees used to spend a lot of time scrolling Facebook profiles. Other employees would love to play some video games.

Even this was some kind of distraction for me. So, I clearly remember the discussion between the branch head and IT guy where he asked him to block Facebook URL in our computers.

Well, I shared this example just to tell you that if you want to spend your time in the best possible manner then you have to learn to remove distractions from life.

I am not against any social media but you have to learn to use them and not used by them. Distractions can be anything, it can be parties, movies, video games, outings, family, friends, or even religious functions. Anything that will divert you from your goals and task is a distraction of your life.

Take Regular Breaks

Another important tip is you need to take breaks in between. In this way, you will refresh yourself. You will get some energy and ready to work in the proper way.

When you take breaks you have to make sure you don’t indulge in unnecessary talks with others. As it can divert you and change your mood. Remember you need to take breaks to recharge yourself not to drain your energy.

Some of the best things which you can do are during breaks are - drink water, have a little chat with a colleague like hello or hi, fresh yourself, drink tea or coffee and call your home to check your family, do some breathing exercises or close your eyes and simply relax.

Bonus Tips - Stay Inspired By Reading And Watching Others

The last but not the least tip for you is to learn to stay inspired either by reading or watching others. Who is your ideal? Whom do you admire? Do you know how they spend their time in the office? How they spend their day?

Well, I can work a lot because my ideal is Elon Musk. I believe if my ideal can work day and night without being tired then I can also try to work day and night.

I know he is doing a lot of things in his life and he is awesome.
So, I take inspiration from his work, idea, and, routine. And I also love what I do every day. So, I never feel tired actually. I can easily work from 7:30 am to 11:00 pm at night but I do take at least three hours break in between.
