How to Earn Money at Home: 7 Highly Overlooked Ways to Make Money with Ease

If there's one thing people have gotten from this post lockdown period, it's that it is possible to earn a living from the comfort of your home, and a good amount at that.

Millions of people thrown out of their jobs turned to the internet and were not disappointed as they soon came to develop another means of income.

People have turned to the very popular means of making money online like:

- Blogging
- Affiliate marketing
- Video watching
- Online surveys and
- Freelancing

Now, while these are good and proven means to earn money at home, they are somewhat over flogged and most can take a while before you start earning a consistent and growing income.

Also, the competition for most of them is very stiff as everyone and their grandma is trying to get their own share of the pie.

On the other hand, there are income opportunities both online and offline that will put some money in your pocket almost immediately, without you having to enter into some fierce competitin.. Sadly, these means are highly overlooked in favor of the more publicized ones.

If you would like to start earning some good amount, here are

7 Highly Overlooked Ways to Earn Money at Home

1) Invest

In August of each year, I receive an envelope from a bank containing my dividend for the previous year.

This is a bank I invested with several years back and each year without fail, I get to share in their profit while my capital remains untouched.

Earning money doesn't get better than this.

Investing is one of the easiest and smartest ways to make money. You continue to earn for as long as your contract with the investment lasts, sometimes forever.

If you have a few investments spread across different platforms, you would have your money working for you while you stay in the comfort of your home or get involved in other stuff.

What's more? There are a million and one investments that come with zero risks and you can choose to build your investment portfolio with several of these over time.

2) Write Books

Another good way to earn money at home is to get started writing books.

The good thing about book writing is that you can write a book on just about any subject and still find a market for it (although it's best to laways write on what people are searching for).

Book writing as a means to earn money online is also great as it is a passive income

There are a few platforms you can self publish your written books, with Amazon being one of the largest.

Another great news is that you don't have to market your books if you don't have the time as Amazon does some of that for you.

You would still record some sales regularly which would be updated in your Reports Dashboard.

3) Sell Via Your Whatsapp Status

WhatsApp status update became really popular during the lockdown. It's like a lot of people suddenly woke to its usefulness and flooded their statuses with products and services for sale.

Each day brought new beautiful products and attractive offers that were just too hard to pass up.

I bought a few products this way and received them in no time.

4) Drop Shipping

In my humble opinion, this is one business everyone should give a try. Besides the fact it costs next to nothing to start, it doesn't come with the stress and hassle of storage, inventory and promotes damage.

All you'd need to do is identify one or more products that interest you and get started promoting them.

When you connect the buyer to the seller, you earn a certain commission.

5) Audio Book Narrators

Audiobook narrators make $100 to $500 per hour, depending on how seasoned they are.

If you have a great voice and quite some stamina, then this means to earn money at home just might be for you

Audio narration is a great gig as besides setting your own hours, you aren't under undue pressure to get the job done within a specific time frame.

6) Online Tutoring

Yet another good way to earn money at home is to become an online tutor.

If you have extensive knowledge of a particular subject or niche, you should cash in on it.

There are several platforms you can offer your tutoring services to start making money. Some of these include:

- Skooli
- Tutor .com
- TutorMe
- GoPeer
- TakeLessons

Most have a fixed commission and you could earn from $10 to $50 per hour.

7) Write for Hubpages

Writing for Hubpages is fun and enlightening as you will learn a thing or two while at it.

What's more, it is a passive income stream; which means the articles you write today will on fetching you money for as long as they remain in the system.

However, while you can earn money with Hubpages, it most times isn't immediately. It takes a while for your published articles to gain some traction, enough to start bringing you a consistent earning. When they start though, you will see your earnings growing a little each month until it becomes a regular monthly income.

Hi, Poppy,

You have a point there; writing books is very profitable when you have a large following.

However, this isnt the only guaranteed way of making money from book writing and I got to discover this when i joined a Faceboo group of Amazon Kindle writers a year ago.

You can achieve a reasonable amount of book sales if you learn keyword research and get it right.

When done, the boo will sell thousands of copies without you necessarily having to back up the sales with marketing.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post and for your thoughtful comment.

Writing books isn't really profitable unless you have a huge platform and following. And with editing, cover design, and formatting, it can often be more expensive and not make any money at all. Yet people always recommend writing books to earn money. I don't get it.
