Color - Vivid Fall Colors
Fall or Autumn
In Minnesota, September is the beginning of the end of our green-ness.
Our green is due to our grass and leaves having chlorophyll in them. Chlorophyll is affected by temperature, so when the temperatures drop it then changes the color of the chlorophyll.
Currently, our temperatures at night dip into the 40's. The chlorophyll is affected when the temperature dips to 60 degrees. Eventually, our temperatures will dip farther and farther below those temperatures and our ground will freeze and there will be snow covering the ground. The temperatures will be below zero for a few weeks and then will slowly warm back up. Our autumn colors are the last hurrah before winter sets in.

Juan Gonzalez, thank you for your comment. Yes. The colors are vivid some days, and dull some days. If it rains, then the colors become very dark and deep. If it's dry, then the colors are dull. Then, at some point, the leaves will have all fallen off the trees and the branches will be bare.
