In this article, I will talk about how you can start with your Digital Marketing Activities. So read till the end, or watch my video on the same topic to know what are the steps you need to follow to get your business online.
Find your target audience.
To reach out to your target audience, you need to identify your competitors and the people who follow their pages. Reach out to them by sending them a connection request and messaging them personally. Don’t overdo it else; you may come out to be spammy, and that is the last thing you would want to be.
Try to analyse the kind of content your competitors are posting, the kind that is being well received by their audience and start having those kinds of content on your pages.
After you have a decent number of initial followers, you can go for paid promotion to extend your reach to an even wider audience.
When you are going for paid advertisements, remember to have the demographics of your target audience and their profile well established. It will help you and social media to find the right target for the right market.

This goes without saying; any social media would like pages with regular updates and enjoy the high engagement. The more you post, the more you can be present in the minds of your target market. So posting regularly should be a critical agenda in your social media strategy.
You need to have a social media content plan for the next two months ready in the pipeline. Have a content schedule and post regularly during those times.
While you post, remember to use all the features of the platform. You need to post on feeds, stories, blogs, Images, Written Content, everything. Use hashtags properly for a wider reach.

Employee as Brand Ambassador
Your employees who work for you can be your best brand ambassador. They will post about your company and share stories on their profile. This will help you and your brand to have a broader awareness.
To use your employees, you need to be judgemental in whom you want to use and whom you don’t. Someone with a vast social media following may help your brand, while someone who uses social media sparingly may not help your cause.
Also, you can give them goodies and other gifts. They will be talking about it on their social media posts. That will give them social proof, and you will have user-generated content.
Remember, your employees must be happy to be a part of your company before you ask them to post on your behalf. You need to empower them before you want to use your personal space. I was a part of two organisations, my reaction to the requests of sharing about the company on my social media handles was the opposite in both cases.
Pop-up Email Collectors on Your Website
When you redirect or bring traffic from your social media advertising to your website, people will navigate your website to look for your products and offerings. They may not be able to convert right on the first visit.
But how do you bring them back to your website? You can do that by collecting their email id. The easiest way to collect email IDs is by using Pop-ups.
These pop-ups appear during the scroll time, asking users to subscribe to their newsletter or are simply asking for email IDs for future offers.
All you need to do to get one is going to any website with the pop-up code and copy it and paste the code into your HTML.
Search Engine Optimisation
Search Engine Optimisation is the best way to reach out to a wider audience organically. You can do a good keyword analysis and incorporate the same in your written content so that when the search engines crawl and index your content, they have your website on their lists.
