While each company maintains their own set of policies and procedures, below is a list of things to expect from most companies hiring customer service representatives:

  1. Have a land line phone that is strictly dedicated to work. This cannot be a phone number that is personal in any way.
  2. Your computer may have to meet certain systematic requirements.
  3. Many companies will require a headset.
  4. For these jobs, you must have a work space or home office that is completely free from distraction during your working hours.
  5. While this may not apply to all companies, it is common for customer service positions to consent to a background check and even pay for the background check prior to hire.
  6. For customer service jobs at home, you will usually be assigned a set part-time or full-time schedule.
  7. The pay tends to range between $8.00 to $15.00 for customer service positions.

The best way that a business company to save cost is to outsource their customer service through online jobs. People who are working at home that is good in English speaking and has a reliable internet connection. They can be trained how to troubleshoot or use their products and work with them as third party for their business company. In that way, the business company can save a lot of cost from it. But there are also issues regarding with this strategies. Business companies should have to take some great factors from it. If you want I have some list of factors that business companies should consider about.
