Brief Introduction to myLot
myLot is a "discussion" website that has been around for years. When it started out it paid, and then several years ago it stopped paying, and then much to the joy of many members both old and new it started paying again.
The website is pretty simple, you post discussions and then interact. The same as just about every paid-to-write website that there ever has been on the web. However, there is one glaring difference between myLot and the many other writing websites that I have been a member of in my nearly fifteen years of writing and earning money online. That difference is that the money is made in interacting on myLot, not so much in the posting of your articles.
In this article, I will give you a little more detail on what exactly you need to do on myLot in order to put a little more coinage in your purse or wallet at the end of the month.
Discussions and Interaction
Like I said previously in this article, you own more money for interacting rather than just from the discussions you post.
It's still a good idea to post a few discussions, that way there is something for other users to comment on when you have commented on their discussions. I know several users who post multiple times a day. On the other hand, there are also several users who only post a handful of discussions a month. It is really up to personal preference. As long as you interact with other users on their posts, you will see the pennies add up in your account.
Interaction is key. I have mentioned that interacting on myLot is the main earner, and that is because I have seen countless people join the website, write one article after another and expect to just make money. But just like everything else, you have to put effort into it if you want to see the rewards. Interact! Interact! Interact! Find discussions that interest you. That shouldn't be a problem, people write about all kinds of stuff. You'll find that once you start interacting, it is very easy to keep it up. Some people might say it is a little bit addicting.
Earnings and Payment
This is the info that most people want to know right off hand. I can't say that I blame them. People who turn to online websites to help earn money want to know which websites are worth their time and which ones will actually let them see dollar signs.
Let me start off by saying this. myLot is not going to make you rich. It isn't going to pay full-time wages, so don't sign up for it thinking that it will. It is not a big money earner. Although I have talked to some users who have earned upwards of forty or fifty dollars a month there. The majority of people who earn that much a month, spend a good amount of time there every day. I have earned double digits there multiple times. My attitude about it is that every little penny adds up. Especially in the world we live in now.
If you devote a couple of hours a day to interacting on myLot, you can probably earn between fifty cents and a dollar. So it's pretty low-paying. But for making friends, learning about different people and cultures, it's not too bad. The minimum payout in a month is $5. In order to get paid your "bank" on myLot has to have a five dollar balance. Once your balance has reached five dollars, you will be paid automatically on the fifteenth of the following month via PayPal.
If you happen to not reach the five-dollar threshold at the end of the month, what you have earned that month will roll over to the next month and so on and so forth until you reach over five dollars.
Likewise, if you want your earnings to stockpile in your myLot bank and then "get paid" when you've reached a certain amount of earnings, you can do just that. All you have to do is not enter a PayPal email in your account settings, then when you are ready just enter the email before the end of the month and presto the following month all your (kinda) hard-earned money will be transferred into your PayPal account.
Dedication is the name of the game.
I said earlier in this article that a lot of users joke about being addicted to interacting on myLot. I guess in a way it's true. If you are somebody like me who likes being social to an extent but gets annoyed with the drama of Facebook then myLot is probably a good place for you to get your thoughts out there and earn a little spare change at the same time. I am not saying that you need to spend all your free time on the site in order to earn any money, but a little dedication will definitely help your earnings be a little higher.
Because of how loose and laid back it is, I find the best time for me to sit and interact is while we are watching tv at the end of the night, or while I am waiting for appointments or whatever. I can multi-task pretty well, so it works well for me. Other people spend way more time with me on the website and earn a lot more, like I said each person finds out what works best for them.
Give it a little time and dedication each day, even if it's just 30 minutes or an hour and you will see the change start to add up and turn into dollars.
