There are literally a thousand ways to increase web traffic or web views as some call it. The most valid and professional way of increasing web traffic is to do it using organic traffic.

1. Search Engine Optimization

I have touched on this topic in a previous article as it is often referred to as a gold mine for many websites, and has even created a niche service industry in its own right. There are many experts online who are willing to do the hard work for you to increase web traffic on your website, but its not cheap.

Every SEO expert knows that a website owner demands genuine traffic from search engines. Although this could be done by yourself with a little bit of research. But if you have the budget then try to get an expert to do the job for you, as it will save you time and money.

A lot of website owners are not aware that there are other alternative search engines that are being used in different countries. So, it would be wiser to not just market in your region but all over the world. Try to gain exposure from all over the place. but remember that it should be in places where you think it might have a good conversion of visitors to sales.

There are also some services that can do the whole process for you, but why rely on others when you can get the job done yourself. Also, there is the risk of companies scamming you of your website views and making the conversion fail before it reaches your site.

Now, this is a very interesting technique that not many people use, and that is ‘link exchange’. Link exchange is basically a give and take solution to increase the viewership count on your website.

The method is pretty easy, you communicate with the website owner and ask for a link placement in his article or page and he does the same with your website. So you both benefit from each others online presence.

4. Advertise your Site Through an Ad Agency

There are so many advertising platforms to jump start your website and get global recognition. One of the simplest ways is to get the point across using link advertising on search engines. There are many variations of ads, some are pop-up ads while others could be banner and stand-alone ads.

These types of ads have a different level of effectiveness depending on the type of niche that you have chosen. But none the less, it is a very cost effective technique to implement if you want to increase website visitors.

5. Get Publicised on Other Sites

When I say "get publicized". I'm talking about sharing your profile with other blog members or other people who have written in-depth articles.

This is usually done free of cost and can be a great strategy to counter ads. Because ads take time to get indexed, while on the other hand, your profile is being mentioned on a website that has a ranking already.

6. Requesting Reviews from Magazines and Online WebMasters

This is another method of backlink marketing that has been greatly undermined. There are sites out there that have a rating and review system which can be shared on your or their website for diverting potential customers to your website. It also helps you to build a community so that every time something new comes to the market, they are informed first about it and as a plus side it also increases search engine visibility

Although I'm not a big fan of promoting in chat rooms or small scale blogs, as they are not evergreen. And usually tend to die off within the following next day. But if your just starting out then it can be very helpful for beginners.

8. Giving Away Free Gifts and Holding Contests

This is in fact a unique twist or a so-called variation of the customer rewards program analogy. The idea is to hold a contest with a cash prize award, which in turn gives you incredibly fast traffic in a short period of time.

An example could be about you giving away an iPhone in return for 1000 ratings and reviews of a certain product. This works very well, especially if you are sponsored by the same company of the product that you are selling for, (in this case example: Apple iPhone)

9. Partner with Local Businesses

This is often overlooked and not many people even know about it. There are communities, local businesses and merchants which will be willing to act as an investor or stakeholders in your business.

Being a partner in a bigger organisation can not only let your fellow business owners be aware of you and your site but can also introduce you to concepts and tools that are unfamiliar to a lot of people. you can use this as a means to boost both your visibility and profitability.
