Let People Handle Their Own Work

In every office, you will get some employees who are always ready to help others. Although this is a good sign to help others yet it will be better if you can make them independent. Every employee of the organization should learn to work independently.

It will be better if you can train and instruct them with proper guidance. In this way, they will not only learn how to handle a particular job but it will reduce your unnecessary workload of other employees.

And because of this not only an employee will grow but it will help even organizations to grow faster. So, let people learn to handle their own work and save your valuable time.

Mindlessly Wasting Time On Social Media

When I was working in an advertising agency, there were many employees who always loved to check their social media accounts. I even remember one argument I had with one employee regarding this. She was just busy playing games on the computer while I was discussing important feedback from clients.

But let me clear that social media is an extremely effective medium of communication. It is not a boon or bane but it entirely depends upon the user. There are many advantages of social media and in the same way, there are some disadvantages.

So to avoid this, you must select some particular time to check your social media accounts, then work as per your plan and leave these platforms for the day. By using this technique my productivity went up 10x within the first month of working as a digital entrepreneur.

Meetings Without Any Concrete Results

While working in the corporate sector for more than a decade, I have attended countless meetings within the organization and with clients.

During such meetings, I have felt many such meetings actually reduce productivity as some of them are quite long, and without any concrete results. Seniors just drag such meetings even more than two hours.

Once such meetings will be over many times employees have no clue as the senior-most person has decided to extend the meeting to the next day. And the process of discussion will continue for many days.

I have observed if some advertising agency is working on the branding and communication part then the client will never finalize any creative until the launch date will reach. Because of this, the agency will attend countless meetings and develop creative output without any results and the process of meetings will continue.

Stay Away From Negative People

I have met many positive people in my life but it is also true I have met many negative peoples too. Your office is a unique place and I am sure you will definitely get some negative vibes in the office.

There are employees who have mastered the art of negativity. They have done PhD in this case. They will speak badly about the company, client, and colleagues. They will count out different kinds of faults in the work culture and attitude of others, while they are suffering themselves.

So, if you are sincere about your progress in the work then just stay away from such employees. They will be the biggest time wasters in your meaningful life in the office.

Apart from the above, there are more options which can waste your time in the office. It is always better once you reach the office then start planning your day. Write down all the important tasks for the day and what steps you need to follow to complete them on time.

Many times it is not possible to complete work due to many unknown circumstances. But if you are prepared well then you can accomplish the maximum work within your time frame. And since you will be spending the maximum time of your life in the office it will be better that you learn to use them wisely.
