10 Things to Keep in Your Desk at All Times:

Having a Hard Time keeping things Organized?

Do you have a hard time deciding what needs to be in your desk at all times without cluttering it with a bunch of unnecessary supplies? Well you clicked on the right article!

Whether you work at home or in an office, it can be difficult to keep your desk neat and organized. Many people who work at home, such as myself, have millions of random supplies piling up inside our desk drawers taking up unnecessary space that could be used for more important things. Up until a few months ago, I threw my pens and sticky notes inside my desk carelessly. I finally decided to search on Amazon for cheap desk organizers so I could avoid loosing my stuff. I ended up finding this cute 5 star rated supply organizer for only $9.97! It holds pens, pencils, sticky notes, paper clips and much more! So If you're guilty of throwing your supplies in the "desk of no return", then I highly recommend a supply organizer.

Now, before you head to the office supply store, let's look at the top 10 things you should keep in your desk at all times!

1. Stapler

Staplers are great to have tucked away in your desk, especially if you have a job that is similar to billing. I know that I keep a stapler handy so I can make sure I don't loose important papers.

2. Staple puller

The stapler and stale puller kind of go hand in hand. If you have a stapler, then it would probably be wise to own one of these. I have no idea how many times a week I have to end up using one of these, but let me tell you, they are life savers!

3. Pens and Pencils

Now can you really work at your desk without a pen or pencil? I used to loose like 5 of these a day before I got the supply organizer that now holds my most prized pens and pencils.

4. Caffeine!!

I know this isn't a MUST have in your desk, but it is a MUST have ON your desk. *Wink, Wink* Whether this be coffee or tea, caffeine is always a necessary. I don't know about you, but if I don't get my cup of tea in the morning, I can't function properly.

5. Sticky Notes

Do you ever get a phone call during the day, and end up needing a piece of paper to write important information on, but never have one anywhere? Well, me too! This is the literal reason why I invest in 20 packs of extra large sticky notes a year. They are also awesome to write reminders on or even positive quotes you find on Pintrest. (Just saying...)

6. Paper Clips

I literally hoard these little things! 10 in my jacket pocket, 25 stuck in the washer machine, and 3 that are in the designated paper clip holder. These are convenient when you or if you don't have a stapler.

7. Scissors

Is a desk really a desk without scissors? A classic office necessity that will never let you down! I have a little kids pair in my desk organizer, and they work perfectly.

8. Calendar

Having a desk calendar will change your life. I personally prefer to write important dates or appointments down on paper, so I found a desk calendar at Target that I use instead of using the calendar app on my phone.

9. White-out

White-out is amazing to have stored in your desk if you're clumsy (Like me). I find that using liquid white-out works best, because for one, it dries fast and for two, it brushes on smoothly which makes it blend into the paper better. The White-out that is on the roll is just annoying and gets stuck. (Does the White-out on the roll get stuck for you? Leave a comment down below)

10. Tape

Last but not least, tape is definitely necessary. Tape is good for all things, art projects, rips and tears, it's also good for marking things!

In the End...

Decorate and organize your desk however you please, as long as your space is comfy for you then that is all that matters. I hope this article helped you out, and don't be shy to leave me feedback in the comments. I would love to hear from you!

Great list. As I was reading your article, I was checking the items on my working station desk. I have them all :) I have a tissue box just in case I need to cover my nose when I'm sneezing. I need to have one on my desk. Thanks for sharing the article.
