This couldn't have happened at a better (worse) time. It's snowing. My battery is dead. I need to hook up the battery charger to the battery.
This involves a power pole. An extension cord. A charger. Simple enough, but I need to locate the charger. Open the hood. Use a flashlight to determine battery polarity.
Then hook up black to black and red to red.
Then, make sure charger is on correct mode. Plug in charger.
Hmmm. I wonder if the charger is in the front seat? Best look there first. I didn't see one just now because the car electric is not working for dome light, and it's 5 a.m. and it's dark.
Success. Charger was in front seat. Cord stretched out from outlet to charger.
Black to black, red to red. Plug in. It's a smart charger, so I selected AGM and 2 amp charge. It's running. So far so good.
AGM isn't the right setting. It's not a gel battery, either. Better change this. Anything but. Three choices.
Reminds me of clipping a wire on a bomb. Don't clip the green, if there are two purples and a blue...
There is a Battery Charger Operating Manual
Okay, so I trudged back to the car through the snow to push the button on the charger. Charger button doesn't work. It's on what it's on. That's final.
So, sat in car and briefly turned key. Ah! I have dash lights. Also, my door chime went off when I opened the door.
