Marty McFly: Wait a minute Doc, uhh.. are you telling me that you built a time machine.. out of a DeLorean?

Dr. Emmett Brown: The way I see it, if you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?

And with that quote, I and millions of kids like me were introduced to the DeLorean DMC-12, or what most people just call a DeLorean (since it's the only car the company ever manufactured). Where else do you get a stainless steel car, anyway?

I don't know about you, but for me, Back to the Future became a staple movie in my young life--and the DeLorean appeared as some fantastical futuristic dream car that I could never have--especially not with a flux capacitor. This car captured my imagination and millions of other's and continues to spark interest even today.

Now that we 80s kids have hit our mid-30s, it's opened up a new market for 80s nostalgia. What's so cool is that this time we can finally live the dream: DeLorean DMC-EV, all-electric--Thank you, God! (Now can you please make it travel further than 100 miles?)

Let's take a peek at what we can expect!

Waqxi, I agree that we need fuel cell cars. Electric cars really will not catch on; they can't go very far, there aren't really any charging stations, and it takes too long to charge. Thanks for the comment. :)

Hello Kate thanks for responding and you are welcome for my comments -I remember as a very young man when De Loreans was introduced and I recall a ad lib he made "I ll teach Detroit to make cars " Rest is all history --Electric cars can never replace the Internal combustion beast unless they come up with a instant re-charge system and , as I see it the only option is to development a safe and compact Fuel Cell Electric cars are indespensable for future for socio economic reasons

I ll do some googling on that and if I come up with helpful info I ll share it with everyone

Wish you peace and happiness and an electric car :)))))))))))

Thanks Waxi, unfortunately they haven't released all the minute details yet--I've included all the links I know about, and that's not mentioned. Gauging by the fact that they didn't release that information, I'm thinking it must be multiple hours!

Hi Great Hub How long will charging take place ?

Waqxi :)
