Round Loom Cast On
Stocking Cap Patterns for the Knifty Knitter Looms
To make a stocking cap on a round loom, you follow these basic instructions:
1. Cast on to the looms by wrapping once around each peg. When you wrap a peg, go around it with the yarn crossing inside the loom.
2. Wrap a second row and knit by using the hook to pull the bottom loop on each peg up over the loop above it and release it off the top of the peg. When you are finished there will be only one loop left on each peg.
3. Wrap another row and knit again until your knit reaches approximately 30 rows.
4. Cut the working yarn to 2 feet and thread it through a yarn needle. Remove the stocking cap from the loom by sewing through the loop on each peg and lifting it off the loom.
5. Pull the yarn tight to cinch it together for the top of the hat.

What Size Loom?
A stocking cap can be knit on any round loom.
For large adults, use the Knifty Knitter yellow loom, or any round loom that is 11 inches across with approximately 41 pegs.
For teens and small adults, use the Knifty Knitter green loom, or any round loom that is 9 inches across and has 36 pegs.
For babies, use the red Knifty Knitter round loom, or similar loom from a Darice or Boye round loom set.
The blue loom in the set, is better for making socks, slippers or gloves than for stocking caps. It is too small, but a stocking cap knitted on the blue loom would fit a small doll.

"Creationists have long complained that evtoluion could not be true, because this or that missing link had never been discovered. Then when the missing link is discovered, they switch to another missing link."Completely false and unrelated example, because the evtoluion debate is about historical artifacts and the past, while AI is a debate about the future."The same basic thing is happening with people who say computers will never have intelligence equivalent to humans, or that such intelligence is impossibly far in the future."I see no connection between a debate about what happened millenia ago to one about what might happen way in the future."Experts like Ray Kurzweil and Hans Moravec disagree (although Kurzweil's predictions see human-equivalent intelligence happening slightly sooner tha Moravec's). But assuming that a computers (costing several thousand dollars) become roughly comparable to human intelligence in the next few decades, economic growth will skyrocket.""Experts" about the future are even more shitty and error-prone than other experts. Assuming that a computer could even "become roughly comparable to human intelligence," which I don't grant, at that point all bets are off, as it could go Skynet on us. It's sort of like and assuming that they will only be used to produce electricity, not for gigantic bombs. An AI might go in either direction."As Julian Simon correctly noted, human brains are the ultimate source of economic growth. I'll stand by my predictions."Nobody denied the value of the human brain, only your overly optimistic predictions of if and how soon computers can mimic them."P.S. If you know any economists who have made long-term predictions of world per-capita GDP who are willing to challenge my predictions, please let me know."I'm pretty sure almost no economist would agree with your predictions, but then, they probably wouldn't care enough to challenge you either. ;)

Wow, your work is beautiful! How long does it take for you to do a tyaipcl project? My stepmum used to weave, (the loom was huge, I think about 6 feet square on the floor, roughly), about she was retired and had way more time than you likely do for this craft.
