For the Love of Miscellany

"Miscellaneous" is where my favorites hide. We never know where miscellaneous will take us. We follow where it leads.

This is the clearance rack at the back of the store where we find the quirky fun clothes. It is the free box at the garage sale that has just we have been looking for. It is the last place we look when we are searching. That is where we always find it!

These are the reasons why we Love It! This page is a catch all for a few final fun projects.

I hope you love them as much as I do!

More Creature Creations

  • Sneaky Snakes: For a full tutorial, check out this link from Thrifty Fun (or this one from Zoo Atlanta). It is different from the rattlesnakes at the right. So be sure to check them both out to see which design elements you like. Watch the video on this page for another take on this clever craft.
  • Keepsake Bears: from Reminkie Bears are cute, cuddly and made from neckties to commemorate a loved one, whoever he may be. Check the bears out to spark ideas of your own or to use the company's services.
  • Menswear Mouse Toy: I don't recommend using silk for this project. However, cotton or other knit neckties are perfect. Treat your cat to a soft toy stuffed with catnip! Cute gifts for all the cat lovers in your life!

In the Kitchen

  • Apron: Kitchen style demands a cute and kitschy apron! With the vertical neckties design, this one is beautiful and functional. Add a pinch of flour and a dash of water, and you are ready to cook!
  • Necktie Mug Cozy: While cooking up a delicious something, enjoy a cup of coffee or hot tea, but do not burn your hand. This mug cozy (pictured) will keep your hand cool and your cup warm. Check out the full tutorial with pictures from Lime & Aqua Studio.
Photographers have an eye for color and style. So for the shutterbug in your life, create a cool comfortable neck strap for their camera. Click on the link here, and scroll down the page for a full tutorial.

Gear

  • Handle Cover or Luggage Tag: We've all done it! Traveling with plain luggage and not knowing which bag was ours on the carousel. Sure, we could search high and low for colored luggage, or we could mark our baggage with a bright clever handle cover or tag. Check out the full tutorial from Craft Test Dummies.
  • Necktie Guitar Strap: Every guitar deserves a shoulder strap that is as unique as the person playing it. This strap from Tiffany Threadgould is very cool and easy to make.
  • Mini "Memory" Albums: Memories wrapped around memories. Make fun and funky album covers to hold your dearest pictures. These make unique and special gifts too.
  • Scissors Holders: Keep your craft room organized in style! This is a simple idea that you can make as is or spruce up with your own special touches.
