Shining a Light
Walking along the Magnificent Mile in downtown Chicago is always a treat and this day was no exception. Incredible light houses were displayed on every block highlighting talented artists work created to celebrate access and inclusion for people with disabilities.
I've worked as a Para Professional working with children that have special needs and as a Certified Nurses Aide with adults. I know first hand how important this cause is to this vulnerable population. A fundraiser of this magnitude is not only wonderful for the individuals, but the communities they live in. This type of work is vital as disabled individuals still find it difficult to find jobs, adequate housing, and many still live in poverty.
