Free Knitting or Crocheting Computer Worksheets: Get Organized
This is a guide to worksheets you can create on your computer to help you get organized with your knitting and crocheting. These are free example knitting and crocheting worksheets on how to organize the various parts of these crafts.
Personal Knitting or Crocheting Information
A Personal Knitting or Crocheting Worksheet allows you to list your favorite websites, add your user names and passwords, and so much more. There are many large free knitting and crocheting pattern sites out there, but you may need to create a user name and password for a few of them. It would be nice to print this out and have it at your fingertips. You may want to add a section for the last time you checked the website/s. You could also include a section for the knitting or crocheting patterns you haven’t gotten a chance to record yet. It’s important to save the web address and write it down as soon as possible. Many bloggers who have great knitting or crocheting patterns close their account, so grab the free patterns fast! If you find one you love, but don’t have time to write it down or print it, then add it to this worksheet, and as soon as possible, copy down the pattern!!

Yarn, Patterns, and Needles Inventory
It's very important to keep track of your craft supplies for when you go shopping. Plus, it's very handy to know what you have and if you can do a certain pattern. By doing it in a spreadsheet, you can sort, filter, etc. You should know what you have already copied down so that you don’t copy the same knitting or crocheting pattern twice and waste your time. Keep an inventory of what you have on hand at all times, what you are using, and what you want to make in regards to your yarn, patterns, and needles. This is an excellent way to stay organized. It will keep you on track. You won’t end up with 5 skeins of red yarn and only one skein of blue or with 4 sets of US8 needles and no US7 needles. When you are at the store, you don't want to get scatterbrained, and forget what you came in there for. Keep track of your supplies! This will help!

Planning for the Future
These worksheets are designed for your future needs. When holidays and birthdays run together, you need to knit and crochet fast! This means planning ahead so that all gifts are ready in advance. It's important to find out your relatives and friends' favorite colors, designs, etc. Think about what they need - a quilt? a potholder? coasters? Dishcloths can especially be meaningful. If your grandmother likes doves, just search online and you can find a dove pattern for free, and then you can make her a sweet little dishcloth that is heart-felt, meaningful, and one you know she will appreciate.

Your Own Design
Creating Your Own Pattern
You can make a pattern just like this. You may be artistic and like the "visual" of the pattern, rather than a written out pattern (K5, P2, K1, etc.). This pattern was an example, but if the "knit stitches" were the filled-in squares (the purple ones) and the blank squares were the "purl stitches," the first few purple filled-in boxes would mean that you need to "knit" those stitches. If you find inspiration, and make a chart like this, be sure to have a "KEY" that shows which are your "knits" and which are your "purls." Also, you will need to record the number of stitches you casted on, the type of yarn you used, the size of needles you used, etc., so you don't forget, and add the level of difficulty. With your hand-written notes on perhaps a graph page, convert this information to a Creation Page, similar to the ones presented to you above. It all flows together.
