Jerry's Art

Jeremiah Morelli - Self Portrait

Jeremiah Morelli - Self Portrait

I feel very grateful to the many artists who have allowed me to use their wonderful pictures with my articles. Though the quality of the content of what I write is very important to me I am a person who eats with my my eyes.

I feel that not only must my article be visually attractive but the pictures I choose must also tell the story. For this reason I can spend a lot of time browsing, deviantart, my favourite website for artwork before I decide on the pictures I am going to use with my article.

The artists at deviantart have always been very supportive of my writing and very generous in allowing me to use their work to express what I want to say. I in turn have always been respectful of their work and given each artist credit by linking back to each of their galleries on the deviantart website.

A picture can say a thousand words and I believe that is one very good reason to give as much attention to the artwork we use with our writing as we do to dotting our i's and crossing our t's.

My way of showing my appreciation to the artists who support me is by regularly choosing an artist and writing a hub in tribute.

This article is dedicated to Jeremiah Morelli who goes by the name jerry8448 in deviantart.

Runrig - The music that inspires an artist

Jerry8448 is 26 years old and he has just finished studying English and Art at the University of Augsburg in Germany. He will be taking up a post as a middle school teacher for English and Art in September.

Digital painting has always been a hobby and the most effective way for him to relax and unwind. He is currently also working on a children's book that he has illustrated and which he is looking to publish.

An artists's cultural background, taste in music and the artists who have influenced him/her have a huge bearing in how I perceive his/her work.

Jeremiah lives in Bavaria in Germany and his favourite artists are Johan Christian Dahl, Caspar David Friedrich, Bill Watterson. His favourite kind of music is folk-rock and he loves Runrig, Chris de Burgh, and Loreena McKennitt.

Following are just a few of the many beautiful pictures that Jeremiah has published in his deviantart gallery.

If you would like to use his pictures with your articles he simply asks that you not change pictures apart from re-sizing or cutting and that you give him credit by providing a link back to his gallery.

Please also note that block prints, which are very reasonably priced, of his work can be purchased from the website deviantart.

I receive no monetary reward for promoting Jeremiah and his work and am just happy to do so.

Ocean Cave

Ocean Cave

The title of this picture is Ocean Cave.

The caption that Jeremiah wrote for this piece is : “Have you ever felt like you were being watched, even though there was nobody around?”

The title of this picture is Dreams.

The picture is inspired by the work of another artist Marie who goes under the name =pisatielnitsa in deviantart.

This is an example of how the artists in deviantart cooperate and support each other.

Magic Gateway

Magic Gateway

The title of this picture is Magic Gateway.

This is one of my favourites because the picture to the forefront and the one of the view from the other side of the gate express very accurately the idea of perception and illusion which I write a lot about.

Two Sides To Every Story

Two sides To Every Story

The title of this picture is Two Sides to Every Story .

It perfectly complements the picture Magic Gateway by the same artist and reminds us of how illusory our perceptions are.

The Grim Candle Reaper

The Grim Candle Reaper

The title of this picture is The Grim Candle Reaper.

This picture captures the idea of death and some of the ways a person can perceive death.

Some people give death a persona and see him as a kind of messenger who calls when your time is up.

I tend to resonate with the idea that death is a creation of mind. The body, for me, is like a garment created in the mind and discarded when we die.

The essence of who we are is elusive and aptly symbolised by the candle flame that can always be relit.

What draws me to Jeremiah's pictures is the way he manages to deal with complex and serious issues and shows us how we can see the same issues through the eyes of innocence.

deviantart is for me the best website to find top quality art for my articles. The artists are very supportive and encourage the use of their art to enhance the written word and only ask that their work be respected and they be given credit by means of a link back to their galleries.

Thank you Jeremiah Morelli A.K.A. jerry8448
