How to draw a ghost

We see them every year! The classic Halloween ghost. You know, the sheet ghost? Some kids even dress up as ghosts for a Halloween costume as well. The main purpose of this tutorial serves to help anyone of any artistic level learn how to draw a simple and somewhat cute sheet ghost!

This is a very basic tutorial and is probably one of my easiest ones to follow.

Step 1

A sheet ghost usually head a round, half moon shaped head.Start by drawing the shape of the ghost's head. This is simply a head shaped formation at the top of your paper.

Step 2

Next, from the bottom of the head, draw the full outline of the ghosts head. This is only a sheet ghost so think of how a sheet is. It's usually long and flowy. Simply draw it as if there were a small child underneath the sheet.

Step 3

Draw the folds or lines representing the sheet's wrinkles. A sheet ghost isn't going to sit like a flat board, it's going to flow in the air. :)

Step 4

Continue to add several more creases on your sheet. Try not to overdue it if you can help it.

Step 5

Now that the sheet is completed, add some more depth to the crease lines. Since our sheet looks kind of plain on its own, we're going to draw some fine sketch lines along the sheet's creases. This will give the drawing thus far more of a "popping out" appearance.

Step 6

Lastly, draw the face of your ghost. You may draw a face similar to the one I have here, but if you want to be more original, I will leave that up to your imagination. That's all! I hope you found this tutorial to be both fun and educating. Happy drawing!
