Master of Artistic Invention
Here, we will explore cultural icon, Pablo Picasso, and the world that surrounded him. I will never forget the first time I stood before Picasso's masterpiece, "Guernica", at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The mural - actually, oil on canvas, a very, very large canvas - depicts the horrors of the Spanish Civil War, and the onset of fascism. Somehow, I felt absorbed into the flames of battle and then expelled back into myself through the survivors' tears.
But my love for Picasso began earlier, in his Blue Period, when he perfectly depicted the human form in saddness, the volumes speaking words. I felt true compassion for his self portraits, wondering why he felt that way. Turns out, he could only afford to buy one tube of pigment, and he chose blue.

Several years later, I visited the Pablo Picasso Museum in Barcelona, Spain, and felt a more personal kinship with the artist, knowing I was walking down streets that he had inhabited.
And then, in the early 1990's, I viewed the exhibit of Picasso's Women at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and that's when I began to resent him for the deconstruction of his women...
Yet, I would never deny the artistic genius of Pablo Picasso's originality and technique and well as his most famous exploration in modern art: Cubism.
Remember that I can only vouch for my own authenticity. It's up to you to investigate the artworks' provenance before you decide to invest in a piece.

Thank you, Elynjo. The "Guernica" is truly magnificent. I am very fortunate to have seen it displayed at the Museum of Modern Art - MOMA - in New York in the years before it was returned to Spain. Now, I'd like to see it in Spain! Best Regards, Cory
Thank you, too, Art Collection. Sorry I haven't responded sooner. I truly appreciate your kind comments and hope you are enjoying curating your collection. Best Regards, Cory

I started to get really interested with his works when I bought one of his replica painting "Guernica". I even bought the book that narrated and explained what inspired him to paint it.

Thank you, SunSeven! I have started to bid on some pieces. I do believe that with research, effort, and luck (well, of course, some investment is involved), a person can build an art collection and eventually own some precious pieces.
