Free Patterns For Knitting Dolls And Their Clothes

A Child At Heart

Still a child at heart I guess

Because I am loving these little baby dolls and am finding them hard to resist.

I hope you will enjoy making one or all of them as I am.

Little Charmers Molly and Lucy

Much fun to be had when you knit these two little charmers – Molly in her sweet red dress and Lucy in her adorable yellow dress. Of course you can always choose the color of your choice for these little dolls. Both of these sweeties are knitted from the same pattern and measure 17 cm [6¾in] in height.
Very little yarn is required to knit them. The shoes, legs, body and head are knitted in one piece and each doll only requires 40 grams [1½ ounces] of yarn oddments and about 25 grams [just under one ounce] of stuffing.

These sweet dollies are perfect for fund raisers as well as gifts that every little girl is sure to love.

About Uthando Project

About The Project

Dr Julie Stone, an Australian infant, child and family psychiatrist, returned from South Africa in 2004 determined to find a group of volunteers to make dolls for the children of the Hlabisa district, where she had visited the hospital. The Project has grown from this initial invitation to dollmakers. Tamsen Rochat, who began her clinical work as a psychologist at Hlabisa Hospital, led the project in KZN. Since its beginning the project has attracted committed partnership in KZN and in other parts of the world.

These can be made with the tiniest bits of leftover yarn. Children love tiny little things that they can carry in a pocket or a drawstring bag. By changing the color of yarn used for the hair or clothing, you could make an entire Tiny Knitted Doll Family.

This is also a pattern that would be great for fundraiser or a charity group as well as making a great stocking stuffers.

The design for this pattern came together out of her love for re-purposing and re-using items from the scrap bag..or even thrift store items. The yarn from a sweater can be used by simply unraveling the sweater, winding the yarn into a ball and your ready to go.

I love this little doll .

So will you and any little girl that you wish to bless.

Included in the pattern is a kool-aid dying tutorial.

Rachel L Alba from Every Day Cooking and Baking on January 07, 2015:

Such sweet little dolls. I used to knit and crochet years ago, but now the hands don't work so good. My daughter does though, I'm going to show her these. Thanks for sharing.

Adorable! A little beyond my skill level right now (I can make scarves, lol). But these are really cute, I would love to work up to them. They don't seem all that hard, either.
