Evolution Stages Of My Genevieve Nnaji Realistc Drawing (Drawing Tips)
Osaro Osula is a self taught artist, brand influencer, content creator and founder of Daddy Soft Apparel & Accessories.
Let me take you on a visual journey of creating a piece titled "Bravura" I completed in 2015. Subject model is a veteran actress Genevieve Nnaji
Accurate outlines will determine the end result of your realistic drawing. You must prioritise the beginning of your realistic drawing to achieve the resemblance of the reference.
After outlining, I started by shading and blending the background with cotton wool and buds for around the outlines, then I fix the background only.
Then I started detailing from top left because I am right handed. This helps achieve a neat job (though I always put a soft paper before resting my hands on the paper)
For your realistic drawing, avoid shortcuts and focus on detailing, just like being conscious in midlife
Shading gently did the magic of achieving her beautiful glossy lips
You can go faster in areas with less details, but remain careful
If you need to go on a break, do a light fixing, wait for it to dry up, then cover with a veil
If you get out of the mood, drop your pencils and go see a movie or do something until you are turned on again
Going faster in less detailed areas, but careful at the same time.
Be more careful in highly detailed areas, too much erasing can mess up the entire project you have spent days creating.
Strictly hatching to create realistic shades on her dress
Take advantage of time in plain and darker areas, go faster, but be careful
It was really challenging at this stage, but I kept on reminding my self that the aim is to create a stunning piece. Patience and determination was the key
You can use lighter shades to trace out your details.
