These are lot of fun to make during the Christmas season. Even though these candy cane crafts are not edible, they are festive addition this holiday. Candy cane bookmarks are a great kids or family DIY project to add to the home library.
Candy Cane Bookmark
This is a relatively easy bookmark to make, and takes inexpensive items to craft it.
You will Need:
- White and red craft felt
- Small red pom poms
- Red thread
- Hot glue
Step 1
Cut the shape of a candy cane out of white felt. This bookmark may be any size, for this example I cut the white felt roughly six inches long.
Step 2
Cut strips of tiny red felt. About half a centimeter in width and long enough to fit on the candy cane.
Step 3
Glue red strips on to the white candy cane.

It is alright if the strips are a little too long. After hot gluing them to the white cane, simply trip edges with scissors.
Step 4
Glue red thread to the back of, the top of cane.
Step 5
Glue tiny pom poms to the tops of thread.
All done! This is a perfect candy cane bookmark for the Christmas season.
Lollipop Bookmark
Lollipop bookmarks are fun and easy to make. Ideal for the pages of children’s books.
You Will Need:
- Lollipop Stick
- Red and white Paint
- Pom Pom
- Hot Glue
Us any size of lollipop you wish. This is a medium sized lollipop stick and a large pom pom.
Paint lollipop stick white. Let dry!
Paint red stripes down the lollipop stick.
Glue big pom pom on the top of the lollipop stick.
Finished! It may be placed between the pages of a book.
Felt Candy Cane Bookmark
This is an excellent bookmark for a Christmas novel collection.
You will need:
- Red and White felt
- Red Yarn
- Tassel (Color is optional)
- Hot Glue
Step 1
Like the first bookmark! Cut candy cane out of white felt. Cut strips out of red felt, and glue on to the white candy cane.
Step 2
Cut a piece of 7 inches by 2 and a quarter inches out of red felt.
Step 3
Glue the candy cane on to the red felt. It has a festive appearance if it is glued at an angle.
Step 4
Glue one end of yarn to the back of bookmark. Then slip tassel onto the thread. I chose my homemade green and red tassel, but any tassel will do. Then glue other end of yarn to the front side of bookmark.

This is a homemade tassel, but tassels can be found in craft stores. This one is a two colored red and green tassel, however the color of tassel is optional.
All done! This candy cane bookmark may be placed in a favorite novel.
Enjoy these DIY candy cane bookmarks. Merry Christmas!
