Curvy Barbie Accessories Pack (Free Crochet Pattern)

Accessories for Curvy Barbie Doll

I wanted to make some accessories for Barbie, but I wanted to share them together instead of incorporating them into my other patterns. Hats are generally the same basic pattern—you just need to add some designs to them to make them unique enough to match the outfit. The jacket is done in double crochet stitches, which looks simple enough to be able to match with several other stitch patterns you'd want to pair it with.

The head for this doll is slightly bigger than the regular Barbies, so if you want to adapt the hat for regular Barbies, I suggest using a smaller hook size or getting a smaller gauge than indicated in the pattern. The jacket uses a small button to close the front. You can opt to remove the button by skipping the instructions for the buttonhole in the pattern. Add snaps to change the look or leave it empty and have an open jacket for your doll.

Materials and Gauge

Materials:

• Size no. 1 crochet steel hook
• Size no. 10 crochet cotton thread
• One small button
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Sewing needle and thread

Gauge:

1st 2 Rounds of Hat = 1.25"

Pattern

Round 1: Form a magic circle, ch 2 (does not count as dc from here throughout), work 16 dc in the ring, sl st in the 2nd ch to join. (16)

Round 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in each dc around, join. (32)

Round 3: Ch 2, dc in each dc around, join. (32)

Rounds 4 - 5: Repeat Round 3. (32)

Round 6: Ch 2, working in FLO, 2 dc in each dc around, join. (64)

Round 7: Repeat Round 3. (64)

Round 8: Ch 2, dc in the first dc, (ch 1, dc in the next dc) around, ch 1, join. (64 dc, 64 ch-1 sps)

Round 9: Ch 1, sk the first dc, sc in the first ch-1 sp, (ch 1, sk the next dc, sc in the next ch-1 sp) around, ch 1, sk the last dc, join. (64 sc, 64 ch-1 sps)

Fasten off. Weave in the ends.

Second Front

Row 6: Attach thread to the next free dc of Row 5 with a sl st, ch 2, dc in the same dc as joining, dc in the next 10 dc, dc2tog, turn. (12)

Row 8: Ch 2, 2 dc in the first dc, dc in the next 10 dc, turn. (12)

Row 9: Ch 2, dc in each dc across.

Fasten off.

Shoulder Seam

With RS and both Fronts facing, insert the thread through both thicknesses at the end and work 7 sc to sew the shoulder seam closed. Repeat on the other side, starting from the 7th sc from the end. Fasten off.

Front Edging

Step 1: Attach thread to Row 5 of a Front edge, work 2 sc for every dc edge down towards the initial working ch. Fasten off. (10)

Step 2: Repeat Step 1 on the other Front, but do not fasten off, turn. (10)

Step 3: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, work another sc in the last sc from Step 2, work 2 sc for every dc edge up towards Row 9 of the Front, 3 sc in the next dc (corner), sc in each dc across, work 1 sc on each side of the shoulder seam, sc in each dc across, work 1 sc on each side of the shoulder seam, sc in each dc across, work 2 more sc in the last dc (corner), work 2 sc for every dc edge down towards the sts in Step 1, ch 3 (to form buttonhole), sk 2 sc, sc in the remaining sc across, turn.

Note: You can change the size of the buttonhole if needed, depending on the size of your button. Add chains or skip more sc's to get a bigger hole.

Step 4: Ch 1, sc in each sc around to the opposite side, making sure to work 3 sc in the center stitch of the corners and 1 sc in each ch of the buttonhole for a total of 3 sc. Fasten off.

Sleeve Edging

Work sc evenly around the edges of the sleeve opening to smooth it out. Sl st in the first sc to join. Repeat on the other side.

Sew a button to the jacket opposite the buttonhole.
