How do you make the earrings stiff?
Moira Durano-Abesmo (author) from Sagay, Camiguin, Philippines on October 17, 2013:
Thank you! I use 1.00-mm hook.
Carol Osterhoudt from Fort Pierce, Florida on October 15, 2013:
I love your work! Everything is gorgeous! What size hook do you use?
Moira Durano-Abesmo (author) from Sagay, Camiguin, Philippines on February 01, 2012:
They are definitely lighter, it won't deform your ears no matter how big the earring is or how long you wear them.
Thanks for the comment. :-)
Simone Haruko Smith from San Francisco on February 01, 2012:
I've never seen anyone wearing crochet earrings before- these look so cool, and they must be more comfortable to wear since they're lighter!

I don't know about nail polish, Patrice. I don't use them. :-) But I'll include that in my experiments.
PWalker281 on January 29, 2012:
Moira, what about clear nail polish as a stiffener??
My daughter didn't have any of the fish hooks but she told me where I can get them cheap.

Many thanks Silwen! I hope you'll love what you make soon.

Thanks LABrashear! I've had this idea of crocheting with thread since 10 years ago. Although it's just now that I created patterns that works with it.
Moira Durano-Abesmo (author) from Sagay, Camiguin, Philippines on January 29, 2012:
Hi RTalloni! Yes, crocheting with thread and playing with colors is a lot of fun. My sister who crochets too thinks it looks so expensive though it really isn't.
Silwen from Europe on January 29, 2012:
Great earrings. I want to try them as soon I will had the thread.
LABrashear from My Perfect Place, USA on January 28, 2012:
Very pretty and unique.
RTalloni on January 28, 2012:
Crocheting with such tiny threads is intriguing. Also, playing with colors using the sewing thread seems like it would be a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing your work.
