Abalone Shell ~ a Labor of Love Part 3

I love the beach and I have walked miles and miles collecting shells and stones. I love to create one-of-a-kind pendants with my finds.

Smooth & Shiney

The tool I used to smooth out the edges of the shell was a medal file (which I stole from my Husband), you need to keep the shell piece wet while filing. To bring out the colors and to make it have a smooth glossy shine I used wet sandpaper, which they use to wet sand a car. You can purchase it at any Auto part store.

Supplies

Here are some Pictures of the tools I use.

Finished pieces

When I am satisfied with the shape, the edges are smooth, and it has air dried, I then proceed to wipe each of the shells with a micro cloth. Now it is ready to be wired wrapped and become a one-of-a-kind pendant.
