Introduction- The Story Of Flash Continues With A New Friend,Henry

Walking With Henry, by Rachel Ann Ridge is a continuation of the author's story of her life with her first donkey, Flash. "Flash The Homeless Donkey" was a wonderful introduction to the author, her life, and of course her donkey Flash.

Walking With Henry continues the author's story when she decides that Flash needs a companion and they bought another donkey. Henry and Flash, though both donkeys had very different personalities. Their introduction and first interactions didn't go quite as the author had hoped.

As the story continues the dynamic between Flash and Henry slowly changes. Through the stories of their daily interactions we see them become friends and bond.

Getting To Know The Donkey's and How They Helped The Author Through Life's Highs and Low's

I loved the way the author developed the personalities of both donkeys so well. It really made it interesting and easy to understand why sometimes they didn't get along or behave as she expected.

As in the first book, the author tells about what was going on in her life. The high's and also the lows. You learn how the donkeys helped her through both the good times and the bad. They were always there for her and her interactions with them helped her process her emotions.

Walking Through The Author's Faith Journey Alongside Flash and Henry

The author is on a personal journey to strengthen her faith in God and she discusses this candidly, which is refreshing. I think it is great that she discusses how despite how hard she tried at times it seemed like she couldn't connect with God. It seems that she connected best when she was out in nature and with her animals. She learned a lot about herself and her personal faith journey through her encounters with Flash and Henry.

Just like we are all at different points in our lives. We are also at different points in developing our faith. Her writing reminds us we shouldn't compare our relationship with God to other peoples. We all are at our own place in our relationship with God, and that is okay. The author reminds us through her stories that we should walk by faith, not sight. God always provides us what we need in due time, for he knows us better than we know ourselves.

Whether You Are Christian Or Not, You Will Take A Lot From This Book

The Christian aspect of the book is not so much that I don't think a person who was not religious couldn't enjoy it. The stories of Flash and Henry and their antics and changing bond over time is intriguing. It is also really interesting how the author does a great job of talking about the difference between donkeys and horses. Though they are both equines, in a lot of ways they are different.

The book reminds us that we all can learn something from any situation that we are in. Whether it be a good situation or a bad one. Sometimes these lessons come in the form of our interactions with animals. They can help change our perspective and see things for the better.

I Think You Will Really Enjoy This Book!

I highly recommend this book to any animal lover really. Especially if you are a horse or donkey enthusiast. I also would recommend it to Christian readers, I think they will find the author's faith journey inspiring. I really hope that she writes more about her journey through faith and life with Flash and Henry. The stories of their antics are so much fun, and the author's dedication to her faith is inspiring!
