Looking for cool cat toys your cat will actually play with? Want something that won't break the cat toy budget? All these toys have been hand (actually paw) selected by my cats & thoroughly tested for durability, attention span & overall coolness. Many toys were ruled out, discarded & ignored to bring you these results...they hope you appreciate their hard work.
Craft Paper and or Paper Bags
It's crinkly, it's edible, it's kitty fabulous! Paper has been a favorite of cats everywhere since...well the invention of paper. It's cheap, fairly easy to clean up & keep them amused for hours. Our cats are big fans of gift wrapping & brown craft paper. one large sheet can take abuse for at least 2 days before it's shredded.
Ours like bags...but the paper is by far more entertaining for them.
FURminator deShedding Tool for Cats, 1.75-Inch Edge
Ok this really isn't a a toy per say...but my cats line up on the deck to get de-furred so I'm counting it. Over the years have had tried every stupid gimmicky cat brush out there....then I saw this gem at the vet's. Sure I balked at the price, until I saw her use it on my cat. O-M-G this thing is amazing! After de-furring the herd it looks like a cat bomb went off in our yard...but better there than my couch. All in all this is a must have for cat or dog owners.
Reduce your cat's shedding by 90 percent with the FURminator deShedding Tool. Its uniquely designed blade does not cut, but grabs and removes loose hair and undercoat hair quickly and easily, leaving a shiny, healthy topcoat. By removing loose, dead hairs, the FURminator also eliminates shedding and the cleanliness and allergy problems that accompany it. Less hair on your cat means less hair on your furniture and floors. The FURminator's tough stainless steel 1.75-inch blade is designed to grab hair and remove it without causing your pet pain or damaging its topcoat. Get fast, amazing results every time with both long- and short-haired shedding breeds. Reduces shedding better than any brush, rake, or comb, and brings out the cat's natural oils, which promotes healthier skin. Helps eliminate hairballs too.
Thick (Fat) Shoelaces...Seriously
Yes it's simple but it's a string, no cat can resist a moving string or shoelace for that matter. Often the simplest toys are the favorite toy in the house...I think it's just to spite us for spending so much on designer toys.
War On String May Be Unwinnable, Says Cat General
Fat Cat Kitty Hoots Tail Chaser Mouse, Colors and Styles May Vary
I'm not really even sure what this thing is supposed to be it's sort of a bunny head with a 14" tail. Everyone in the house loves this thing, I've had to buy a few extras to keep up with the demand. It's really tough, a herd of cats has been beating the daylights out of these for years & they are all still in one piece.
This high-flying kitty activation toy has 3 forms of play value. Toss it and watch your cat become airborne in lickety split time. Grab it and dangle it in your cat's general direction. Nippity-do-da-day it's our zoom around the room organic catnip. Meow. Toys are approximately 16-inch long and are mounted on cards 6-inch by 3-7/8-inch. Tail chaser cat toys
This is a classic but still get the cats moving...even more so if you throw them in the catnip bag overnight. Just a warning you might want to get the bright colored ones, that way when your cat actually offs a mouse they don't blend with the toys. ( I learned this the hard way)
Loco Laser Cat Toy
Laser toys are hit or miss with cats, about half the cats go nuts & the other half don't notice it...or care. We do have a dot junkie here, Pork Chop she'll whack the laser mouse to you until you break down & zip it up & down the hall. Sadly enough this is really entertaining with small kids...don't ask how I know just go with it.
LocoLaser gets your kitty moving in a flash. The bug sized spot of the light replicates the lightning quick movement of prey, shifting your cat's activity level into overdrive with excitement and fun.
An empty box
Better than a $50 cat bed, softer then concrete & the favorite of cats everywhere! It's the Box! But it's not just any box it an empty box!
Pet Stages Feathered Fun
Feather sticks are pretty popular around here, Mau Mau thinks they should all be de-feathered, so we do go through several a year. Shockingly enough most of the cats love them when they get down to a chewed up nub with one sad little feather left.
Fat Cat Kitty Hoots Boogie Mat for de Cat Oriental
We've had this thing a couple years, I'm not exactly sure what kind of nip they put in it but my cats can't resist this mat. They flip they flop & they toss this thing all over the house. Clearly this is a staple if your cat is a nip junkie like mine.
If your feline responds jubilantly to a small catnip mouse, imagine how they'll react to a cat-sized carpet packed with the stuff? This Fat Cat refillable catnip mat is the perfect tonic for restless kitties and easily-entertained pet owners. It'll make your Tabby bounce around the room in no time. Fat Cat has included a package of Zoom Around the Room high-test organic catnip, which is 100 percent pure and made of only the choicest part of the catnip plant. The catnip tickles the senses of most felines and makes them do the most extraordinary things. Thankfully, your cat won't spend all his time in the stratosphere, as most catnip trips last less than a half hour, after which your kitty can cuddle up on the mat and sleep off his bliss.
Fat Cat Big Mama's Scratch 'n Play Ramp for Cats with Catnip
One of the best scratchers I have ever bought. It seems to be in one piece & considering the traffic it gets that pretty astounding!
Big Mama's Scratch 'n Play Ramp is natural and recyclable. The ramp comes with a supply of Zoom Around the Room high-test organic catnip and toy to keep up the fun and enjoyment. Reversible cardboard block lasts twice as long for double the scratchin' fun.

My cat loves to play with feathers but mostly a faux mouse on a string. He will literally jump really high in the air for it (if i throw it in the air). He is like a circus cat lol Great lens by the way! :)

Love it! The photos are adorable! Funny you should mention the furminator, some of my colleagues at work have been raving about it this week.
pixelposy on March 26, 2011:
The furminator is a wonderful thing and gets rid of so much hair, but my kitties find the zoom groom more pleasurable so I use both. I second the paper bags and boxes, both keep them entertained for hours. I store their toys in one of those little build-a-bear boxes, they enjoy working to get their toys back out.
