#1: Shih Tzu
Shih Tzus are definitely one of the dogs with less behavioral issues than most others. They live about 10-16 years. But they do bark a lot, at almost everything and everyone that passes by. But there are ways to prevent all the constant barking; first of all, you can try to reduce any distractions (if possible). Shih Tzus often bark at anything that distracts them. You can minimize separation anxiety. Just keep in mind that dogs also bark to communicate.
#2: Yorkshire Terrier
Yorkshire terriers (also known as yorkies) are bold, confident, courageous dogs who love to be cuddled and pet. I'd consider them one of the cutest hypoallergenic dogs. They live almost 13-16 years. They absolutely love to be the center of attention and they actually require quite a bit of it. Yorkies do NOT do very well if left alone. You could say they're needy. Yorkies are incredibly clingy dogs and have separation anxiety. However, they can be somewhat independent at times. But a bit of alone time couldn't hurt it.
#3: West Highland Terrier
West Highland terriers (also known as Westies) are friendly, alert white teddy bears. These are hardy, independent, brave little pups, but they still love to cuddle. They usually don't bark a lot, but if they do, it could be a sign they have energy they need to get rid of. Westies are actually very hyperactive, so if you're a couch potato, this might not be the best dog for you. But it's easy to train them, at least! Westies are intelligent, fast learners and since they're so hyperactive it could be something for them to do. Their lifespan is about 12-16 years.
Basenjis have a bit of a cat personality in them. They're curious, alert, and mostly quiet; yet still as energetic, affectionate, and playful as any other dog! Basenjis like to cuddle, too. However, like a cat, (at least my cat,) usually only when it's tired or needs attention. But they could like to snuggle up with you at random times throughout the day. Basenjis are mostly a sensitive, understanding breed that barely barks and is somewhat like a cat. And, like Westies, live 12-16 years.

#5: Bichon Frise
Bichons, the gentle yet feisty fluff balls of energy. They love human interaction and are usually very welcoming and protective of their owners. Although they're not good guard dogs, they will bark if they see an intruder approaching their home. Bichons are even cuddly! They're generally cheerful and sensitive dogs, and with this information, they can be classified as good therapy dogs. They even enjoy being held and squeezed. If kept happy and healthy, they can live 12-15 years.
