The Gaddi dog is a semi domesticated mastiff-type mountain dog from Himachal, in Northern India. They got their name “Gaddi” after Gaddi shepherd tribes of Himachal. India. They are also known as Gaddi Kutta, Gaddi Shepherd, Indian leopard hound, Indian panther hounds and Mahidant mastiffs. Those are mainly available in the states of the western Himalayan region: Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Kashmir.

Initially this dog was groomed for hunting purpose. The multi-talented Gaddi Kutta was also used by local shepherds, for livestock and property guarding purposes. They are said to be strong enough to repulse attacks by snow leopards and to have the intelligence to herd stray sheep and goats back to their pens. Like Tibetan mastiffs, Gaddi Kutta is also descended from Himalayan Mountain dogs and Indigenous mastiffs.

The Komondor dogs are white colored powerful dogs with a long, corded coat, native to Hungary. They are also known as 'mop dogs. They got their name after people of Cumon race people, who called it the Kuman-door, means the dog of the Cumans, and the Kuvasz. They are also known as the Hungarian sheepdog.

Cuman people bought these dogs in Hungary during the 12th and 13th century and they are listed in Hungarian codex, since 1544. Though now days, it’s difficult to find original Komondore dogs, according to local stories most of the dogs were killed during second world war, when the Germans and later the Russians invaded. They had to kill the dog before they could capture a farm or house that it guarded. The modern Komondor dog was created in 1970, by mixing South Russian Ovcharka and some other dogs like Bergamasco and the Catalonian Sheepdog.

Persian mastiff dog breed (aka Sarabi dog) is not a mixed dog. they exist from Achaemenian times untill now. also a statue of it was found at Apadana palace in Persepolis many years ago.
