Keeper the Kat: Valentines Day 1997 - November 4, 2017
I wanted to find a place where the story of Keeper can live on for any humans who might come across this. This cat was something else. This is a work in progress. Feel free to sign on below if you would like to receive updates.

A Black Cat and Halloween: As we spend this evening together treating the little tricksters, we both know that this will be our last Halloween together. My little princess is in the Twilight of her years. Her little body is steadily failing her. I only hope that she can make it to her 21st on Valentine's Day. That is 100 people years.
I have had the pleasure spending 20 years with my oldest and bestest BFF (best feline friend). I take pause to think of some of the traits and characteristics that have defined this little lady throughout that time:
She is beautiful. People Marvel at her yellow eyes and fluffy tail especially over at the Vets.
She is clean. Always grooming herself right on up to today as much as she can move around her bony body. Hairballs have been her lifelong adversary.
She is incredibly smart. She knows over 100 Words and sentences. That is better than a chimpanzee.
She is obedient. Doing what is asked of her most of the time and knowing intrinsically what must be done properly.
She was an amazing Huntress. A fierce outdoor cat from day one.
She is compassionate. In her later years she would bring back her prey alive, shoved into her mouth between her two front teeth. This would be field mice and hummingbirds. She had to make her way to the roof of the house through an open window and Scurry down the stairs to show off her trophies before being forced to release them. That includes a live mole she once drug over the roof.
She is entertaining, running all around doing the most amazing things you could ever dream of, some of which is fortunately on YouTube.
She was amazingly agile, flying hi through the air and Landing atop a chain link fence. Climbing High into a tree and way out on a limb on a windy day, getting buffeted back and forth while hanging on with her two front paws.
She is careing to this day, trying her very best to comfort those who are in distress. If a certain part of the body is hurting, she has The Uncanny ability to go to that part.
She is adventurous and trusting. Going for long walks in the dead of night when the neighborhood becomes ours, exploring houses and porches and sidewalks and all manner of things including the night creatures and the Wild Things who come from the woods. It took a lot of trust for her to stick by me as we crossed a large field to the grade school with no Escape Routes available to her.
She is steadfast. She would face down other cat adversaries by sitting down and standing her ground for however it takes to Outlast the other. I could just leave her and walk on away. I could go around the block and come back and she would be right there waiting for me.
In her later years she became a Regal old grande dame. Often we would come across other cats who would follow along behind her like the Pied Piper until they eventually give it up a few houses further down. We were The Travelers, we would keep moving for blocks and blocks and blocks. No time to dilly-dally around with the other cats or dogs like was done in the earlier years. The mission was to keep moving and cover more ground. Fortunately some of these Adventures are on YouTube.
We once came across a man walking his goat. We caught that one on video.
She once came across a furry bunny in the driveway and became His companion.
Yes, she is a lover.
These are just a few of the traits that come to mind that define this little character.
When I look at this I see that just what is here is more than I would settle for in a human mate.
I expect that would be the same for others as well. Yes #Keeper the Kat it's not just one in a million. I am thinking probably closer to one in a billion out there in the world.
And that begs the question: is this amazing or is this a bit sad for Humanity when I think back on so many humans who could never measure up to what this tiny little creature has in her. It is what it is I guess....
