The American Bobtail's Evolution
The American Bobtail evolution was jump-started in the 1960s. It produced a breed of cat with a furrier, shorter tail. This cat's wild appearance and broad ranges in eye and fur color made them popular with cat lovers around the world.
The American Bobtail is a crossbreed of the Tabby & the Bobcat. It is the result of genetic mutation and engineering. The crossbreeding of the two cats produced unique features such as a more shaggy, and bobbed tail. An American Bobtail has features that resemble the traditional Japanese Bobtails and Manx type of cats. Although similar, the American bobtail is completely different from these cats. The main difference between the two is that the American Bobtail has a tail that is hairier and half the size of the Japanese Bobtail.

Love Your Pets
A growing alienation among several breeds has led the Board to look into a solution.
In 2007 there had been a bit of controversy over cat breeds. A resolution regarding what the "Definition of a Breed" was desperately needed. The Cat Fanciers Association (CFA) board met to discuss and resolve the issue.
The CFA had given The Breed Councils three opportunities for input as to what they feel the issues surrounding cat breeds were. For the most part, their response was that they wanted support for the individual cat breeds, to be unique to their own classification. For the most part, this has been an unwritten foundation within the CFA.

In Albuquerque, NM a board meeting took place favorably endorsing a new policy that protects the integrity of your breeds’ identities.

Taking Pictures of Bobtail Kittens
Pictures of Bobtail kittens are one of those things that are hard to resist. The cute factor is just too high not to take a picture. Photographing your kitten is a great way to see the actual growth of the animal. Kittens turn into cats fairly quickly so those first few weeks are the time to keep a camera handy. With this in mind, there are a few tips to consider when you take some of your first pictures.
It's always a good idea to have an item in the frame to show the size and scale of your kitten. Surrounding your kitten with say; yarn balls will help give the photo depth and scale. While photographing the cat against a blank will offer 0 points of reference as of how big the cat actually is.
Photograph cats when they are playing or stretching.

Be Ready, Be Alert, Snap Your Picture!
As much as a photographer would like to be able to plan a funny picture it will rarely occur. Cats are just too unpredictable. When something does happen with a cat, it often happens fast. In some respects, a photographer looking for a funny picture from a cat will need to be like a Wild West gunfighter. They need to have the camera on the hip and at the ready to "click".
Generally, a person can use their instinct to feel when the cat is about to get into trouble. It is just one of those things. Funny cat pictures stem from the photographer knowing when the cat just cannot resist doing something foolish or mischievous. Then taking the photo when it happens.
Some cats like to push their limits while some are innocent bystanders. Whichever cat is around the house they are sure to get themselves into situations at one time or another. Funny cat pictures happen at the most unexpected times so have the camera ready to "click".
