Dogs can Dress-Up for Halloween Too

Halloween is one of my favorite times of year. I love the spooky decorations, candy corn binges, and costumes, of course. I love buying costumes for the whole family, especially my daughter, but this year, I am going to add another costume to the list -- a spider dog for my Hunter. Hunter is a very emotional, nine-year-old Chihuahua/Mountain Feist and I think he will look absolutely adorable in a spider costume for Halloween this year.

To learn more about this adorable, somewhat scary Halloween costume for dogs, check out the YouTube video by SA Wardega that inspired my desire to buy this puppy costume for my cranky dog and check out some of the available options as well.

Spider Dog Costumes are Available in Any Size

For years, people have dressed up their tiny dogs in all types of costumes. Seriously, some of these pampered pooches have a better dress-up wardrobe than I do. However, medium dogs, big dogs, and even really big dogs can get in on the Spider mania this Halloween.

Scare Trick or Treaters or Just Create Adorability

I have to admit that I laughed way too hard when I watched the video above. Although I don't plan to scare unsuspecting passer-bys, I do plan to create adorability when I dress up my tiny pup as a mutant spider dog. However, if you would like to scare people with a giant spider dog costume, you should probably videotape it for the world to see.

Spider Costumes for Small Dogs

If you have a small dog, you can still pull off the terrifying spider look. In fact, even the smallest dog is bigger than the largest spider I have ever seen, so no matter what it's a win-win situation.

Spider Costumes for Medium Dogs

A medium dog weighs about 20 to 60 lbs. and will probably gathere more attention than a small dog when wearing a spider dog Halloween costume. Check out my favorite medium dog spider Halloween costume here.

Large Dog Spider Costumes

If you are looking for a truly frightening Halloween costume for your large dog, a spider costume would be perfect. Large dogs are more likely to pull off the scares that are common in the Mutant Dog Viral video above.

DIY Spider Dog Halloween Costumes

If you rather create your own dog spider Halloween costume, you will be glad to know you aren't alone. I love making my own Halloween costumes and find it a great way to get into the eerie spirit and save some cash as well. Check out the DIY spider Halloween costume for dog video below.

Dogs Wearing any Costume is Hysterical

Even if you decide that a dog Halloween spider costume isn't right for your family mutt or mutts, you have to admit that dogs wearing costumes of any sort is rather hysterical. Check out the YouTube video below to get a glimpse at adorable dogs wearing silly costumes. My personal favorite in the video below is the Chihuahua wearing the tank.

The video also consists of doggies wearing alien costumes, human costumes, superheros, and other animals, including a rather adorable doggy wearing an elephant costume and a reluctant wiener dog trying to chew the hood off of his shark costume.

I'm hoping my little monster will let me get a pic too

we have an old shih-tzu and I've never dressed her up for halloween, but honestly, these spider costumes are a riot! Maybe this is the year I do it - she won't like it though, I put a santa hat on her once and she went nutz lol - lasted 2 minutes I think. Maybe I can something like this on her long enough to take a photo?

That would be cute to see! My dog would probably think all the legs were chasing her. LOL

That's so funny, MelRootsNWrites! I'm going to take a video of my dog when I get the spider costume. I'm sure he will be trying to chew it off.

My dog is afraid of the dog jackets she sometimes has to wear in the winter. I am sure this would terrify her. LOL
