Great Dane

Great Danes are giant and one of the tallest breeds in the world, which were bred by mixing between English Mastiffs and Irish Wolfhounds. They were developed in 16th century, to be a powerful, courageous and excellent hunter, which were used to hunt wild boar and deer, and as guardians of German nobility. In 1876, the Great Dane was elected as Germany's national dog and German breeders began promoting them as a dog of luxury instead of a working dog.

The Great Dane was developed from the crossbreeding of the English Mastiff and the Irish Wolf Hound, exported from English lands in the 16th century.
