The October, 1st is acknowledged as “National Black Dog Day”.

“National Black Dog Day”, October 1st of every year is dedicated to our most devoted black dog companion. This day serves to raise awareness against superstitions about black dogs and encourages appreciation to adopt black dogs. Unfortunately, the population of black dogs is deprecated and a lot of black dogs are waiting in shelters for their adoption.

The interest and adoption of black dogs is condensed in recent years and some reports says, many dogs likely to be killed every year, in shelters regardless of their breed and excellence. Also, some people believe, the black dogs are supposed to be ferocious and they look scary. Though this is a wrong perception, dogs do what they are thought to be.

And it’s weird, but some people have superstitions about black dogs and that’s also a reason, they are being escaped. Which is known as “Black Dog Syndrome”.
