Sunflowers are beautiful and complex. The flower starts out yellow, covered with pollen. Then as the bees finish their thing, the flowers convert to a seed.
Then, the birds pick them out.
Mine began in the bird feeder. Birds are slobs so the seeds ended upon the ground.
One thing led to another and a plant started growing. Technically a weed. But, we left them alone.
This is how it began.

Yes, I can imagine the birds love the sunflower seeds. They are such lovely plants.
