Writer, Artist, Mystic, Ordained Interspiritual ChristoPagan Priestess. Writes poetry, fiction, & thoughts on spirituality, mysticism, the occult, and life.
I'm one of those people who's interested in a lot of different things. Let's face it, I'm eclectic. I like the word "multipotentialite," but it's a mouthful, don't you think? Still, you should see my LinkedIn page! I have every job I've ever held listed there, from my first job as a bus person to my last job as a behavioral health tech. I think I did it mostly so when I leave this world my family will have the information for my obituary all in one place!
No matter what I've done for a living, though, I have always been a writer and an artist, and I've always been interested in metaphysics and spirituality. You'll learn more about that stuff if you follow me here, you can be sure. I am a very prolific writer.
Honestly, I started writing as soon as I could hold a crayon. I've even won a couple of awards for poetry over the years. My first published poem was what we would call fan fiction today, but since Ballad of Evenstar and Elfstone was published when I was 15, that genre hadn't been invented yet. It's kind of like when I wore a lot of makeup, had my hair black, purple, and magenta, and wrote really depressing poetry, nobody had coined the terms "Emo" or "Goth."
My work has been in periodicals and broadsides, and has appeared in some anthologies and online publications, including River and South Review and Elephant Journal. I've been a featured poet at readings in a couple of different states, and have presented work at a couple of domestic violence conferences in the Phoenix area. So far, I've written 12 books. I published my first book Phoenix from the Ashes in 2013, and my latest poetry collections, Incantations and Illusions of Being came out earlier this year. The book that has made me happiest, Mothers of My Spirit: Goddesses and Magick, was released in late 2021. I've got a couple in the works right now - one fiction (which will be published under a pseudonym), one nonfiction.
I try to keep up with a bunch of blogs about the different things I feel compelled to write about. I left my last day job this year in order to focus more on writing and painting, learning how to market my work, and selling old books and stuff online. You can find everything of mine, if you want to, by clicking on my Linktree below.
Luckily, in 2011, after raising my kids pretty much on my own, I reconnected with an old friend who turned out to be the love of my life. He's a great supporter of my whims, and I of his.
I guess I did a lot of things later in life. I earned my BA in Religious Studies and Anthropology (minor) when I was 45 and my MDiv at 55; I received my ordination as an Interspiritual Priest that same year. Even when I went to community college, I was considered and "older student." I got my AS in Medical Secretarial Science using my GI Bill when I was about 21 and followed it up with an AA Liberal Arts at 23. Besides my husband, I have four adult children and seven grandchildren. Thankfully, they don't live with me. Oh, and I'm a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Aaaanyway...Bright Blessings, my friends. I hope I bring something here that you like!
